COURSE OBJECTIVES
The objective of this workshop is to ensure participants are familiar with the basics of using Excel for standard spreadsheet applications as well as to introduce
more advanced uses of Excel for Data Analysis.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After having taken this workshop, participants will be able to/are expected to be able to
LO1 Use cell references, formulas, functions, and conditional formatting in Excel, and standard search functions such as vlookup and xlookup to assist in data
management.
LO2 Use pivot tables to summarize and extract meaning from large tables of data.
LO3 Create and label graphs on Excel.
LO4 Generally develop ease with using Excel and be familiar with resources to improve Excel skills throughout the year.
PREREQUISITES
No prerequisite required for this workshop. I recommend you go through the LinkedIn Learning modules detailed below if you are relatively new to Excel, either
before or after our workshop.
COURSE CONTENT
One session only:
- Cell references, formulas and functions
- Conditional formatting
- Pivot tables
- Graphing qualitative and quantitative data – seeking relationships between variables
- Search functions
