find
a. the magnitude of , 𝑉 ⃗ (2, −1,3).
b. the direction of , 𝑉 ⃗ (−1,2,3).
c. the unit vector in the direction of , 𝑉 ⃗ (1, −1,1).
d. 𝑉⃗ 1 (2, −1,3) ∙ 𝑉

e. 𝑉⃗ 1 (2, −1,3) × 𝑉 ⃗ 2 (1, −1,1).

2. For the given density field, 𝜌(𝑥, 𝑦, 𝑧) = 8𝑥𝑦 2 𝑧 + 𝑥 3 𝑧 5 − 𝑥𝑦𝑧, evaluate

a. ∇𝜌, the gradient of the field.
b. ∇2 𝜌, Laplacian of the field.
c. ∇ × ∇𝜌, curl of ∇𝜌.

a. 𝛻 ⋅ 𝑉⃗ , divergence of the field.
b. ∇𝑉⃗ , gradient of the field.
c. ∇2 𝑉⃗ , Laplacian of the field.
d. Acceleration of the field.

4. The flow through a converging nozzle can be approximated by a one – dimensional

velocity distribution 𝑣 = 𝑣(𝑥). For the given nozzle in fig.1 below, the velocity varies
