Dynamic Currency Conversion Explained ? 1666789070

The document describes the process of Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) for card present transactions at point-of-sale (POS) terminals and ATMs. When a card issued in one currency is used for a transaction in another currency, the cardholder is given the option to accept or decline DCC, where the transaction currency is converted to their card currency at the time of the transaction instead of at settlement. If they accept, the DCC provider performs the conversion using an exchange rate and fees. The DCC markup can be split between the merchant, acquirer, DCC provider and payment service provider.
