Day 2 MPRE Narrative Report
Day 2 MPRE Narrative Report
The Pasian National High School, headed by Ma’am Jenny O. Derano Head Teacher I,
conducted the second day of MPRE exactly 8:00 AM at science laboratory in PNHS hosted by
Ma’am Gemma Libradilla. The program started when Ma’am Libradilla greeted all the
participant a very good morning with enthusiasm. She then requested the presence of Ma’am
Jenelyn Judaya to conduct the singing of National Anthem and followed by a prayer through an
audio-visual presentation. Ma’am Marivic Salapayne recapitulated the previous discussion
where she enumerated the topics that we tackled the day before.
Ma’am Christine A. Teves was introduced as the speaker. Ma’am Teves has been the
Master Teacher I of Pasian National High School for 2 years now and her accomplishments for
the school are very evident of her passion in teaching. She shared to us her expertise and ideas
about Result- Based Performance Management System. She emphasized that RPMS is an
organization-wide process to ensure that teachers effort works, and this is embedded to the
DepED Order No.42 series of 2017 or the National Adaptation and Implementation of the
Philippine Professional Standard for Teachers. She explained to us the new guidelines for
classroom observation for 2022-2023 that there will be only two classroom observations
required and shall be conducted in the last two quarters and shall be conducted once in a
quarter.
After taking a short break for snacks, she continued her discussion on the different
teaching strategies that we could use to meet the objectives found on KRA’s or Key Result
Areas. She explained the parts of KRA’s and its objectives one by one and provided us some
techniques. The first strategy she taught us is about Problem-Based Learning (PBL) a student-
centered pedagogy which students learn by actively engaging in real-world and personally
meaningful projects. Second, PMI which P stands for Plus, M for Minus, and I for Interesting
Activity which is useful for making conclusions. Third, RAFT or Role, Audience, Format, and
Topic Strategy which is best for developing the writing skills of the learners. She also mentioned
about Differentiated Instruction-Based Learning, Teared Heterogeneous, Scaffolding, Teacher
and Learner Feedback Strategies, Focus Group Discussion, and Exit Cards. Lastly, she taught
us how to manage stubborn students which most teachers have difficulties in dealing with. She
said that if we encounter a talkative student, the best way to do is to remain silent and let the
student realize his faulty acts and refrain from talking. Throughout the discussion everyone
shared their own ideas and experiences to one another which Ma’am Teves appreciated the
most. “I like this kind of set up. We are having a session at the same time focus group
discussion.” she said.
