1. BACKGROUND
Established in 1964, the African Development Bank (AfDB) is the premier pan-African
development institution, promoting economic growth and social progress across the continent.
There are 81-member states, including 54 in Africa (Regional Member Countries). The Bank’s
development agenda is delivering the financial and technical support for transformative
projects that will significantly reduce poverty through inclusive and sustainable economic
growth. To sharply focus the objectives of the Ten-Year Strategy (2013 – 2022) and ensure
greater developmental impact, five major areas (High 5s), all of which will accelerate the Bank
delivery for Africa, have been identified for scaling up, namely: Light up and Power Africa;
Feed Africa; Industrialize Africa; Integrate Africa; and improve the quality of life for the
people of Africa. The Headquarter is in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The Bank has 42 tailored field
presences consisting of 31 Country Offices, 5 Regional Offices and 6 Liaison Offices.
The Office of the Auditor General (PAGL) provides independent, objective assurance and
consulting services designed to add value and improve the Bank’s operations. It also assists the
Bank in accomplishing its strategic objectives by bringing a systematic and disciplined
approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control, and
governance processes. The Office of the Auditor General is responsible for planning,
organizing, directing, and controlling a broad, comprehensive program of auditing and
consulting/advisory services both internally and externally, including, without limitation, all
projects, and programs of the Bank group. PAGL subscribes to and works in accordance with
the International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal Auditing and its code of
Ethics as issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
2. OBJECTIVE OF ASSIGNMENT
The main objective of the assignment is to assist PAGL in supporting the execution of audit
and audit data analytics activities, internal processes, and knowledge sharing via training,
awareness sessions, etc.

3. SCOPE OF SERVICES
As a member of the Audit Data Analytics team, the Consultant shall support the Office of the
Auditor General (PAGL) as follows:
1. Design and develop improved data analytics routines and processes to support internal
audit activities. Coordinate the acquisition and implementation of approved data analytics
tools and templates and facilitate staff capacity building (training) and change
management activities.
2. Interact with management and business partners to identify appropriate data sources and
elements required for analytics and validate the completeness and accuracy of data

In performing the above, the deliverables expected from the Consultant include but are not
limited to the following: (a) Delivery of Data Analytics documentation, (b) Creation of
dashboards, (c) Creation of reusable scripts, (d) Creation of presentations to visualize the
results of data analysis and (f) Creation of knowledge sharing materials (e.g., PowerPoint
presentations for PAGL staff or audit clients).
The Consultant will be housed in the Office of the Auditor General and will report to the
Division Manager through the designated Auditor-in-Charge for each assignment. On a day-
to-day basis, the Consultant will be supervised by the Principal Data Analyst.
6. DURATION
The assignment shall preferably start in January 2023, for a renewable three (3) months, subject
to satisfactory performance.
7. ELIGIBILITY
1. At least a master’s degree (or its equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science and
Engineering, Information Management, Statistics, or a related field.
