Introduction Reciting the Holy Quran is a virtuous rite and intensely extolled by the Noble Prophet Muhammad (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). This immense liturgical rite although supererogatory is nevertheless an action that draws one closer to our Master and Creator, Allah. It is reported that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, The best voluntary (nafl) act of worship is the recitation of the Quran [Al-Hadith]. The course will last for 30 weeks and be a total of 60 learning hours. This course will focus on an indepth study of the makharij and sifaats of the Arabic letter, the rules of tajweed together with the practical application of these rules. By the end of the course learners should be competent readers of the Holy Quran whilst observing the rules of tajweed. They should have a certain degree of mastery over the correct pronunciation of words and letters and develop fluency and beatification of voice and tone. This course will concentrate learners to master the recitation of the entire Quran. However, the focus of study in this course will be Surah Al-Rahman, Surah Maryam , Surah Yasin and some other Surahs of more or less equal length selected by your instructor. All learners can expect to experience an enjoyable, fun and professionally delivered course. Who is the Course Suitable for? This is an advance tajweed course and as such learners on this course must be able to read the Quran independently and with a certain degree of fluency. The The Mastery of Reading the Quran course has been designed to cater for learners who are able readers of the Quran after having studied

intermediate level tajweed and now would like to acquire an advance level of tajweed. This course will help develop the learners competency in reading skills, pronunciation and a detailed knowledge of tajweed . Aims and Objectives of the Course The aim of the course is to help develop learners to become confident and independent readers of the Holy Quran whilst observing the rules of tajweed. The course is designed in a very simple manner such as to render easy for adult learners the advance theories and rules behind reading Arabic. The course will move at an intensive pace but will nevertheless be in bite-size sessions in order to help adult learner master the art and science of reading the Quran.

Complaints: This course is designed to make learning fun and enjoyable. However, if you are unhappy about something and would like to complain you should bring this up with your instructor. Learners should have a combination of two skills to wit, a deep understanding of the pronunciation of the Arabic alphabets and rules of tajweed both skills should applied when reading the Quran.

Learning Outcome

Course Timetable The course will run during term time only. Your instructor will let you know when the holidays are. The course will run every Tuesdays morning classes from 10 am to 12 pm and evening classes from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Course Fees and Method of Payment The course will cost 145.00. The fees are payable in full and are non-refundable. Payments can be made in cash or cheque. All cheques should be made payable to The Muath Trust. The course fees include the cost of all course materials.
