1. INTRODUCTION

OVERVIEW

In S4HANA, Based on SAP Note: 2083705 - Save Local File - Spreadsheet option is missing after Support Package
SAPKB74001. The description "Spreadsheet" is renamed to "Text with Tabs". The reason for this change is that
the result of an Excel file download has never been a true binary Excel export but more like a text file labeled
with extension 'xls’.

HOW TO EXPORT DATA FROM SAP TO EXCEL IN S4HANA

1. Execute the report or T-code.
2. Click the menu path:
List -> Export -> Spreadsheet
or Menu option
System -> List -> Save Local File.
3. See pop-up box with the various formats to save in:
• Unconverted
• Text with tabs
• Rich text format
• Html format
• In the clipboard

The "Spreadsheet" function is missing, and a new option "Text with Tabs" is available.

STEP BY STEP

1.3.1 HOW TO EXPORT TO SPREADSHEET

1.3.1.1. PROCEDURE (1A)

1. From the top Menu bar of the Transaction Code, CLICK on the List.
2. From the List drop down box click on Export then Spreadsheet

1. Select List

2. Select Export
3. Select Spreadsheet

3. In the pop-up box, Select format 31 Excel – Office Open XML Format (XLSX)

4. Select format 31 Excel – Office

Open XML Format (XLSX)

5. Select Continue

4. When the ‘Save As’ pop-up appears, save your document to your Desktop.
5. TYPE the desired name of your report in the ‘File Name’.
6. Save as type EXCEL files (*XLSX) and Click on Save. Button.

6. Select Desktop

7. Save as type EXCEL files, then click Save.

1.3.1.2. PROCEDURE (1B)

1. From the top Menu bar of the Transaction Code, CLICK on the List.
2. From the List drop down box click on Export then Local file.

1. Select List

2. Select Export
3. Select Spreadsheet

3. In the pop-up box, Select format Text with Tabs

4. Select format Text with Tabs

5. Select Continue

4. Click on the match box.

6. Select the Match box

5. When the ‘Save As’ pop-up appears, save your document to your Desktop.
6. TYPE the desired name of your report in the ‘File Name’.
7. Save as type ALL files (*.*) and Click on Save. button.

1.3.2.1. PROCEDURE

1. From the top Menu bar of the Transaction Code, CLICK on the Export icon.
2. In the Save list in file pop up box, Select format Text with Tabs.

3. When the ‘Save As’ pop-up box appears, you can save your document to your Desktop.
4. TYPE the desired name of your report in the ‘File Name’.
5. Save as type ALL files (*.*) and Click on Save. button.

5. Select Continue
