9. SCHEDULE
Earthworks are, Structures formed by the excavating, raising or sloping of ground, e.g.;
embankments, cuttings or remediated natural slopes. Civil engineering process that includes
extraction, loading, transport, transformation/improvement, placement and compaction of
natural materials (soils, rocks), and/or secondary or recycled materials, in order to obtain stable
and durable cuttings, embankments or engineered fills. At this project all building will do
earthwork for foundation (Container Yard work shop, office building, etc.)

10.6 Excavation More Than 1.5 M depth
As HSE Regulation, all excavation that more than 1.5 meter depth will categorize into confined
space work and must be more attention. Inspection gas trap shall applied every time to ensure
area of excavation clear from gas trap such as H2S, methane, CO2, etc. Inspection air condition
will controlling by Gas detector that checked by safety man at working area. In confined space
excavation, preparation work should be equipped with several document as follows:

10.7 Temporary Shoring Protection
In case natural slope cannot be applied to excavation of foundation, the temporary shoring shall
be applied to avoid slope failure. Shoring protection will use steel sheet pile and strut structure
or wooden. Some cover protection (plastic, tarpaulin, etc) also will be applied (if required) to
avoid slope erosion during construction. Temporary shoring protection shall be designed and
calculated by competence engineer and attach in work method statement that issued to company
for approval.
The installation of temporary support protectors (Sheet piles) must follow the following:
a. Survey and marking
The determination of line shoring protection that will be installed and stack out.
b. The lifting crane must be selected, based on the weight of the sheet pile material to be
lifted. Ensure maximum lifting capacity for sheet pile material is still in covered by service
crane load capacity.
c. Access and work area must be good and wide enough for this type of work including
swing operation.
d. Appointment supervisors should be assigned to the operation. Riggers, signalman and
others must be properly regulated. They should be clearly instructed for the operation.
e. The roughter crane must be parked at a predetermined position. The area for laying the
piles should be selected at an early stage.
f. Ensure the crane and lifting devise has inspected by certified competence persone before
to use.
g. All lifting operations must be supervised by the lifting supervisor.
h. After the sheet pile has been loaded into the HSPD chuck with a crane and pushed at least
3/4 length of the sheet pile into the ground, the HSPD operator will confirm and make
sure everything is in order before giving instructions to the trigger person to release the
shackles. Shackles must be reachable with a man's height.
i. After positioning and verticallity has been checked the reaction stands vertically in the
proposed alignment, 1 sheet of initial pile shall be installed and pressed using the HSPD
pile machine to the required depth. Often in the form of sheet piles are used to provide
the initial reaction force.
j. The pile starts from a reaction stand that simulates the top of the pile. Please see figure 2.

k. If required, the sheet piles should be joined by welding to achieve the required penetration
length. Hot work Permit will be applied if any jointing work for sheet pile
l. After the installation of the initial 1 pile is completed, the counterweight and reaction
stand must be removed.
m. Repeat for the next sheet pile installation until remaining sheet pile finished
n. Sheet pile will use W-type with sizing 0.4 m with and 9.0 m length. Please see figure 2.
o. However, before completing the pile driving, the stationary pile machine is removed from
the retaining pile. Please see figure 3.

p. Then the HSPD pile machine must complete the pile driving and the top of the machine
moves forward to allow the next pile to be installed. Please see figure 4.
q. The above procedure must be repeated to press the next pile to complete the pile wall.

10.8 Excavation at Stand Piling Area
In case excavation at stand piling area, contractor will provide wooden to cover group pile from
damage during excavation activity. Supervisor and safety man must be more attention for this
activity and ensure every step safe and not obstruct to pile material that has been driven.
10.10 Compaction
As soon as the fill is placed and spread, every layer shall be compacted to the required
grade as per the specification.
The optimum moisture content shall be determined in laboratory compaction test as refer
to AASHTO T 99
AEI-CVLCONS-MOS Page 12 of 14
AEI Confidential
Maximum thickness of layer and the minimum number of passes of the compaction
equipment shall be determined by field compaction test as determined by AASHTO T 191
or ASTM D 1556.
Care shall be taken to ensure that the lower layers of fill are placed and compacted using
only that amount of compacted effort necessary to create a bridge over the weaker soils.
As the fill height increases the compacted efforts may be increased to attain the desired
density in the upper layer of fill.
10.11 De-watering
During excavation activity, improved area shall be maintained dry, and excessive water shall
be discharge to temporary pit. Temporary pit shall be made , and de-watering pump with
adequate suction capacity shall be used to de-water the trench. Ensure pumping unit that will
be used is relevant with estimating maximum water volume if rainfall is heaven during
excavation.
In order to soil disposal, contractor will propose soil disposal area to COMPANY for approval.
Soil disposal will propose out side from work site area and disptaching by dump truck. Ensure
dump truck has inspected by HSE departement and approve for used.
