Are you done class?
Let us check your answer.

Who would like to answer no.1?

Yes (name of the student).

Great!
How about no.2? Yes, sir it’s
correct.

Good job!

What is the answer for no.3? Sir, it’s also

wrong.
Get it (name of the student).

Your all doing great!

So, let’s proceed to our main topic:

Ma’am, is it
Understanding the Computer System wrong too?

Will you please all read this with loud and clear?

As an aspiring computer technician, it is very

important to know the different components of a
computer system. These are the hardware, software
and peopleware. Each component plays an important Yes sir!
role, without each other computer systems will not
work properly.

And now class we will first with Hardware.

I will read it for you, listen carefully. (The students
will raise read
the statement
HARDWARE - Computer hardware is the collection of
loud and clear)
physical elements that constitutes a computer system.
Computer hardware refers to the physical parts or
components of a computer.

Do you understand it class?

It says that hardware pertains to the physical object

that we can hold for example in our hands that utilized
in computer, without the hardware the computer will
not function properly.

Now, I am going to discuss what the Major hardware

components of a Computer System is.

Yes sir, please

1. System Unit- The main part of a microcomputer, elaborate it in
sometimes called the chassis. It includes the following simple words.
parts: Motherboard, Microprocessor, Memory Chips,
Buses, Ports, Expansion Slots and Cards. A System unit
is the brain of a computer. It is responsible for all
functions and processes.

(The students
will listen to the
discussion.)

Hardware has two categories: it can be an input or

output device. Input device is any peripheral (piece of
computer hardware equipment) to provide data and
control signals to an information processing system
such as a computer or other information appliance.

On the other hand output device used to communicate

the results of data processing carried out by an
information processing system (such as a computer)
which converts the electronically generated
information into human readable form

discussion.)
1. Keyboard - the primary input device used to
communicate with the computer. A computer keyboard
closely resembles a conventional typewriter keyboard
with the addition of numerous keys that are used (The student will

materials.)

MATERIALS
are the cosmetics
and supplies that
are consumed
and should be
replaced from
time to time.

2. Mouse - The mouse is another input device used to

point at objects on the computer monitor and select
them.
3. Microphone – It allows the user to speak to the
computer in order to record a voice message or
navigate software.

(The students
will listen to the
4. Web Camera – used in transmitting live images over discussion.)
the World Wide Web.

There you go. We will proceed to OUTPUT Devices.

1. Monitor - It displays information in visual form, using

text and graphics. The portion of the monitor that
displays the information is called the screen or video
display terminal. There are 3 types of Monitor these are
the CRT, LCD and LED Monitors.

paper. There are different types of printer, these are
Ink-Jet or Bubble-Jet Printer, Laser Printer, LCD and LED
Printer, Line Printer and Thermal Printer.

3. Speakers – It is used to play sound. They may be built

into the system unit or connected with cables.

(The students
will listen to the
discussion.)

C. Engagement Now class, do you understand our lesson about INPUT Yes sir!
and OUTPUT Devices?

Very good! Now, we can have our recitation.

I will post pictures of computer components and you

will tell me whether it is for INPUT or OUTPUT.

Ready class? Yes sir! We are

born ready!
Okay picture number 1!

Sir, it’s a mouse

used for input!

Correct answer!

Picture number 2!
Sir, its monitor
used for output!

Bravo!

Picture number 3!

Sir, is that
Microsoft word?

Nice observation, its Microsoft word. Where do we use For making

it? documents sir.

Great, it seems you guest our next topic. Softwares!

But for now we will assess your learning about INPUT

and OUTPUT Devices.
D. Assimilation What I have learned?
Let us try your understanding regarding to our topic.
