What is trading?
Exchange of one item with some other item is called trading
Examples:
1. Exchange of 1kg apple with 200 PKR (Apple/PKR)
2. Exchange of 12g Gold with 1 lac PKR (Gold/PKR)
3. Exchange of 1 Dollar with 180 PKR (USD/PKR)
Introduction of Forex?
➢Forex or FX is short form of Foreign Exchange. It is the trading of one
currency for another.
➢For example, one can exchange the U.S. dollar for the euro. Foreign
exchange transactions can take place on the foreign exchange market,
also known as the forex market.
➢Forex trading is done in pairs, such as EUR/USD (euro/U.S. dollar) or
JPY/GBP (Japanese yen/British pound). When you make a forex
trade, you sell one currency and buy another.
➢This Global Trading Market is worth US$ 1,934,500,000,000 (i.e. US$
1.9 quadrillion). It is 2.5X larger than the global GDP.
➢Market is run by a global network of Exchanges and banks, spread
across four major forex trading centers in different time zones:
London, New York, Sydney and Tokyo. Because there is no central
location, you can trade forex 23 hours a day.
➢Forex is a part of this Industry with an average daily volume of more
than US$ 7 trillion.
