ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

PROFILE OF THE ACTIVITY

I. Title of Activity Everyday B2B:
A Back - to - Basic Math Recovery Program
II. Rationale With the occurrence of the Covid 19 infection from 2020 - 2021,
schools were shut off, students were confined at the comfort of their
home, thus, instructions were delivered through distance learning :
online and modular. This situation lead to the occurrence of learning
loss / gaps on their present-day skills and their previous grade-level
competencies. This posed a great threat in achieving high academic
performance among them when face to face classes resumed. One of
the learning area that is greatly affected by this learning losses/ gaps
is mathematics.
Mathematics is a multifaceted discipline. It requires a higher
level of thinking skills: critical, logical, analytical, and manipulative.
Why it seems to be a complicated subject for most students, to excel
in mathematics, students must enhance their skills in fundamental
operations and graphic organizers. The value goes beyond the
classroom and schools. Therefore, mathematics as a subject in school
must be learned comprehensively with much depth, as mentioned in
the K to 12 curriculum guide. It has a broader definition that comes
from different aspects of life, and it is not just about numbers, but it is
all about the world where living and nonliving things live.

III. Activity Description The activity will be delivered through a flexible learning mode
(asynchronous and onsite) in accordance with the IATF health
protocol. It will concentrate on the development of contextualized
learning activities and lesson exemplars based on the result of the
Diagnostic test given to incoming grade 11 and 12 SHS students.
This activity will also include critiquing of the learning activities
and lesson exemplars in terms of : 1.teachign strategies used ,2.
Integration of the content within and across curriculum learning
areas, assessment strategies utilized by the teachers, and lastly, the
skills and competencies of the students as identified in the
diagnostic test.
