ESSAY
Currently, the way that our education system work with us is a widely discussed issue due to the lack of labour preparedness in academic institutions. A growing number of youngsters are increasingly frustrated when they start to decide the sort of jobs they aspire to. But is there something to be done about this? I believe so.
First and foremost, in general features there seems to be a serious problem when teenagers have to decant what they would like to dedicate in their lives or at least, in a given time. If they were to have more experience, they would choose less pressured. In turn, there would be fewer college dropouts and more fulfilled young workers. Embarking on a work experience programme would be truly beneficial. It helps to focus students’ minds on what working life will be like.
In the second place, students lack appropriate careers guidance. Sometimes, teachers are not qualified for this task on account of they have never done alternative jobs to theirs before or perhaps, they may tend to have a closed mind and defend their job as the only valid. Thus, it is of outmost importance to hire professional careers counsellors, who can help students develop more accurate expectations of their professional opportunities.
To draw the conclusion, one can say that if we were to tackle these two methods, our education system would become effective in aiding students to being blissful workers. Eventually, implementing work experience programmes would bring more advantages than careers advice because our own experience is more valuable than someone else’s professional opinion.
