Let’s use Dr. Jose Rizal works as an example to how literature makes
the national development possible. Dr. Jose Rizal once said that the youth
is the hope of our future. The Rizal Bill and his literary works are seen as a
great help to the young Filipino people to develop a national character.
Rizal’s writing, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo, are one of the

essential in order to fulfill the goal of national development.
2. Why do authors/writers use literary fiction in expressing their views and
ideas?
One distinct characteristic of literary fiction is it is character-driven.
Every act in the story affects the main character or characters, and
understanding those effects is the goal of telling the story. Literary fiction is
always a study of the human condition and often an exploration of difficult
social or political problems that determine our lives.
The main motive of why authors/ writers uses literary fiction on their work is its
because it allows them to deal with contemporary social issues. Let’s use
Rizal’s work again as an example. Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo is
considered a literary fiction written by Dr. Jose Rizal to addressed the
