above.
It has been observed that retail prices of Fruit & Vegetable items are
showing increasing trend in recent days ostensibly due to recent spell of rains & cloudy
weather. It has further been observed that auction rates are not reflected in retail pricing
of Fruit & Vegetable items.
It is desired that all Fruits & Vegetables brought for sale in market be
open auctioned and auction rate be recorded by designated auctioneer of Market
committee. The Concerned Secretary Market Committee must remain present at the
time of auction in main F&V Market of the market committee for ensuring proper
recording of auction. The concerned EADA (E&M) should randomly visit F&V Markets of
District for monitoring of auction process in said markets with main focus on District
level Fruit & Vegetable market. The Concerned EADA is also required to check retail
rate list of their market committees and compare daily retail rate with surrounding
Districts for having better retail rate list of Fruits & Vegetables in their District. In case of
any abnormality in prices these may be carefully examined and got rectified.
It is further directed to closely monitor supply side of tomatoes, check its
sale & purchase and ensure that no hoarding/ abnormal purchase is taking place.
Further its smooth supply may be ensured by seeking cooperation of commission
agents dealing in tomatoes.
The above instructions may be complied with in true letter and spirit and
any slackness in this regard will be viewed seriously.

Subject: IMPROVING CLEALINESS POSITION IN AGRICULTURE PRODUCE


MARKETS IN PUNJAB

It has been observed that after recent rains cleanliness position of


Agricultural Produce Markets is unsatisfactory. The proper Cleanliness in Agricultural
Produce markets is direly needed to provide better place for sale & Purchase of
Agricultural produce especially Fruits & Vegetables.
Due to recent spell of rains, water has been accumulated at low lying areas
in markets resultantly some marshy areas have been developed over there. Your
regular visit of Agriculture Produce Markets falling in your jurisdiction is essentially
required. These markets may be visited regularly and it may be ensured that stagnant
water has been drained out and marshy places may be removed from there.
Cleanliness operation in the markets must be carried out regularly and garbage must be
got removed from there on daily basis
It is directed to ensure proper cleanliness of Agricultural Produce Markets
falling in your jurisdiction especially EADA (E&M) Lahore must have a close liaison with
Secretaries, Market committees, District Lahore for proper cleanliness of Agricultural
Produce Markets of District Lahore.
