Attention: MANAGING HEADS

APPOINTED/DESIGNATED POLLUTION CONTROL OFFICERS
COMPANIES/INDUSTRIES/LGU’s IN CARAGA REGION

RE: PCO ACCREDITATION/REACCREDITATION TRAINING COURSE

Sir / Ma’am:

The DENR Administrative Order No. 2014-02 or the Revised Guidelines for the Pollution Control Officer Accreditation
of establishments that discharge solid, liquid or gaseous wastes to the environment or whose activities, products, or
services are actual and/or potential sources of land, water, or air pollution require establishments to appoint a
Pollution Control Officer (PCO) who shall be accredited or reaccredited by the Environmental Management Bureau
on the condition that he/she has attended at least the minimum forty (40) hours requirement of related basic and
advanced trainings. Securing a PCO in the establishment is also a necessary condition stated in the ECC and he/she
should promptly submit the SMR and CMR of the establishment to the EMB on a periodic basis.

In view of the foregoing, the MIT Center for Sustainable Resource Management, in cooperation with the EMB-
Caraga, will conduct a 3-day Basic PCO Training Course equivalent to 24 accredited training hours on August 3-5,
2017 at the Almont Inland Resort, J.C. Aquino St., Butuan City. The purpose of this training is to capacitate the
PCO’s in performing their functions, duties and responsibilities using accelerated learning techniques. Upon
completion of the course, the PCO may apply for accreditation or reaccreditation on the condition that he fulfills the
required number of training hours for the accreditation or renewal of full-pledged PCO’s in compliance to DAO 2014-
02. Also, a new system on the online submission of SMR’s and CMR’s will be discussed in the workshop.

We are therefore pleased to invite your company to send your PCO in this training. Attendance is a MUST for all
PCO’s and Managing Heads. Training fee is Php 7,000.00 (LIVE-OUT) inclusive of 3 lunch meals, 6 snacks,
training kit, training module and PCO’s training certificate. Check payment must be payable to MIT Center for
Sustainable Resource Management. Payment may also be deposited to BDO Checking Account-Davao Calinan
Branch under MIT Center for Sustainable Resource Management with account number 010998000631.
