Forum #1 Lab - Research a Hardware Upgrade

Introduction

Use the Internet to gather information about hardware components. Your customer’s computer

currently has one module of 2 GB of RAM, a 500 GB hard disk drive, and a PCIe video adapter card with

256 MB of RAM. Your customer wants to be able to play advanced video games and use Revit and

Lumion. His target game is: Cyberpunk 2077 in RT High or RT Ultra setting. Based on the apps´

requirements select parts to do the upgrade. (You can look at local or external sellers)

Instructions

Step 1: Research CPU options.

Shop around, and in the table below list the brand, model number, features, and cost for two different

CPUs. The first must be an AMD processor and the second one an Intel processor.

Step 2: Research motherboard options.

Shop around, and in the table below list the brand, model number, features, and cost for two different

MOBOs. Make sure both motherboards are compatible with the processors you selected in the previous

chart. Example: Processor 1 must be compatible with MOBO 1. Processor 2 must be compatible with

MOBO 2.
