After executing 3000 workflows, the average execution time was 2.5 minutes per workflow, 15
seconds per page.

⚫ Full OCR workflow

Capture Manager could process approximately 4,000 pages per month.

⚫ Image pre-processing workflow without needing Full OCR

Capture Manager processed approximately 24,000 pages per month. The average execution time

Operational recommendation
Restart the server periodically for continued stability.

Capture Manager is a server product running multiple server instances simultaneously. Periodically
restarting the Capture Manager server is good maintenance practice and recommended to improve
server performance.

To help the Capture Manager server restart periodically, the installer creates a scheduler item (restart
Capture Manager services) in the Task Scheduler. The administrator can modify the schedule for their
environment and enable the scheduler to restart Capture Manager at that time.

Known Issues and Solutions

Issue: The UI displays in Spanish, and you cannot log in.

Cause: During SQL installation, the ODBC driver is installed. If you remove this driver, Capture Manager
cannot connect to the SQL server, and login fails.

Solution: Make sure the ODBC driver is installed. If it is not, reinstall this driver.

Issue: If the initiator in the Smart Information Manager configuration task does not have a write
permission to the Inbox, the Smart Information Manager task fails.

Solution: Assign full permissions to the initiator’s account on the Smart Information Manager side.

Issue: The attribute principleID is not supported in Capture Manager.

Issue: The IPv6 address format does not work in the Smart Information Manager configuration task.

Solution: Use the IPv4 address format for the Smart Information Manager configuration task.

Issue: The license is not retained when the user uninstalls and reinstalls Capture Manager.
Solution: Contact your sales support team to issue a new license.

Issue: The Verification task does not work when the Verification task is set to Action on failure
in the Classification task.
Solution: Do not place the Verification task after the Classification task in a workflow.

Issue: If you place an old time-stamped file into the input folder, folder polling does not work.
Solution: Update the time stamp to the latest version by saving the file again.

Issue: There is no detailed information shown when Classification training fails.

Solution: See the log file in Models > Training log.

6
Issue: Newly added icons or buttons may not display properly after upgrading Capture
Manager.
Solution: The browser may still be using old .html files. Clear the browser cache to display the
UI properly.

Issue: A workflow is assigned to a local user group as a private workflow and Capture Manager
changes to Active Directory authentication. The assigned workflow cannot be changed to a
public workflow because the local user group no longer exists.
Solution: Mark the workflow as public under the local user group first, then switch to Active
Directory authentication.

Issue: The browser’s auto-fill feature can make the Copy to folder and Metadata export tasks
fail.
Solution: When configuring the Copy to folder task settings and Metadata export task settings,
remove or change the folder authentication User ID and Password entries that were
automatically set by the browser.

Issue: The UI may not be displaying properly if the screen is at a low resolution or the window
size is too small.
Solution: Use a higher screen resolution or enlarge the browser window.

Issue: The UI display speed may be slow on Internet Explorer.

Solution: Consider using another browser.

Issue: Capture Service takes a long time to start and exceeds the time limit to execute the
service.
Solution: Extend the time limit to execute the service by following these steps:
1. Launch Windows Registry Editor.
2. Find the following registry subkey:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control

3. Right-click this key and select New> DWORD (32-bit) Value.

7
A new value named New Value #1 displays on the right.

4. Change the name of this new value to ServicesPipeTimeout.

5. Right-click the ServicesPipeTimeout value you created, and choose Modify.
6. In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, change Base to Decimal.
7. In the Value data field, type the value (in milliseconds) of time allowed for the service to
start, and click OK. 60 seconds (60,000) should be sufficient.
8. Restart your computer.

Issue: Template editor supports a 32-bit integer value only as a NUMBER type. (-2,147,483,648
to 2,147,483,647)

Solution: If a user wants to use a value greater than the 32-bit integer value, use the TEXT type.

Issue: Auto Classification doesn’t work and generates a server error.

Solution: To run KCM Auto Classification, the server CPU needs to support AVX instruction sets.

Issue: When upgrading from 1.2.3 to 1.2.4, deleted licenses are not displayed in the license
history list.

Issue: Due to an ABBYY installer issue, ABBYY FineReader Engine version shows
1.2.31.34.134237. The engine should be upgraded correctly.
