Growth of Pechay Without Fertilizer


I. Objectives
1. To grow pechay without using fertilizer.
2. To collect data using the growth of pechay without fertilizer.
3. To organize date by constructing tables and graphs

II. Materials

7 Plastic Bottles, Pechay Seeds, Water, Scissors, Pen

III. Procedures

1. Preparing the Materials

The researchers prepared the necessary things before they started planting. They cut

the seven pieces of 1.5-liter plastic bottles into halves and used the bottom part of

them as the pot in which the seeds would grow. The researchers also collected only

one type of soil from the same place so that the plants would grow in the same soil.

2. Transferring of the Soil

After the researchers cut the plastic bottles, they transferred the soil to each of them,

leaving one inch at the top of the pot to make sure that they are not fully filled with

soil and for the pechay plant to grow properly.

3. Planting the Seeds

After the soil was transferred to each pot, the researchers planted three seeds in each

of them, all at the same depth of 1 cm.


4. Watering the Pechay Everyday

After the seeds were planted, the researchers watered them every day at 9 o'clock

in the morning and continuously for 39 days.

5. Observing the Plant

The researchers observed the growth of the pechay by measuring each of their

length every 3-4 days.
