Introduction
A student's career choice is one of the most significant problems
and obstacles that they face during their academic career.
Students face the struggle of making big decisions when entering
college while facing the pressures of social expectations, brand
influence, and the prestige of colleges, on top of parents that are
breathing down their necks.
Peer pressure is faced by many teenagers of society, professionals
understood the concept of peer influence that could affect
teenagers in a negative way which can be prevented by educating
and preparing teenagers to face the negative aspects caused by
peer pressure (Temitope & Og0nsakin, 2015).
Parents serve as a major influence in their children’s career
development and career decision- making they want their
children to find happiness and success in life and one factor
which influences happiness and success is career choice.
Students make informed decisions based on their individual
interests, skills, and goals that can also provide a deeper
understanding of the social dynamics within the classroom and
the role of peer pressure in shaping student behavior, which can
inform strategies for promoting a positive and supportive learning
environment. Choosing the right college courses for a better
future should not be a ruse because it is bound to the challenges
you are going to face. It includes the risk you are going to take
and the peer pressure itself. Students must know their strengths
and weaknesses to survive in college. It has a huge effect because
if the students are not suitable for the course they have taken,
they cannot finish what they started.

Personal reference was also a huge factor affecting choosing a

course in college because students must choose what course they
truly want, and they need to be sure about it. In choosing their
course in college, students must know their capability, that is, if
they are fit for a specific course.

Students should choose their college courses wisely and ask

themselves why they chose a specific course, find jobs that are
similar to their course and talk to peers about which courses are
relevant, and think about which subject interests them. Many
senior high school students often have trouble choosing what
college course to take in college, especially those who are in their
senior years. It can be a difficult decision to make for teens
because peers of pressure tend to have a huge impact on their
decision at that age. Given that the course they are going to take
will affect the career they can eventually pursue, that's why
students should decide which course will be the best for them in
advance.

Making a correct college preferred course choice is one of the

major decisions students make in their personal life. Usually,
they are at a tender age of 16-17 in which undecidability is a
common problem in terms of choosing a college course. Most
students are influenced by parents, guardians, teachers, friends,
peers, and many others. Some students on college campuses are
losing sight of what they want for their future due to peer
pressure and undecided mind that should be carefully considered
since it has ripple effects in one’s life. College course expectations
have become an essential concept in professional life and have
been defined by different perspectives. Influence a student's
choice of major or course of study by offering opinions on what is
popular, or what will lead to better job prospects. Students may
feel obligated to select courses peer pressure can significantly
impact an individual's decision-making process. Peers can that
are popular among their peers, even if these courses do not align
with their interests or career goals. By studying peer pressure, we
can better understand the role it plays in shaping student
decision-making and develop strategies to counteract it. This
knowledge can help individuals make more informed decisions
about their future, based on their interests and aptitudes.

Background of the Study

Many students find it difficult in choosing what course to take in

college. Choosing what course a student will take in college is one
of the most important decisions in life a student will make. The
course that they will choose will affect how they will live in the
future. For seniors or graduating high school students, the
pressure goes higher as the end of their term is coming because
the time is running out and decreasing for deciding what course
they will take. Making the appropriate professional choice in
choosing college courses without any forcing in agreeing to their
choice of career, will be a brighter future that shouldn’t be a trick
because it’s tied to the difficulties you’ll encounter. The kind of
career that youths want to pursue can affect their lives in many
ways. Every year, graduating high school students are faced with
this problem, especially peer pressure that affects students in the
decision-making of the right college-preferred course for them.
