Exercise No:1 REPORT PREPARATION

Prepare a report from the given printed document of minimum 250 words. (Use text
formatting tools, header & footer, page number, line spacing, font & images)

AIM:

To prepare a report from the given printed document of minimum 250 words. Using
text, Formatting tools, header & footer, page number, line spacing, font & images.

PROCEDURE:

1. Go to start->Programs->Microsoft Office-> Microsoft Office Word.


2. Open Microsoft Word and create a blank document.
3. Go to Pagelayout and set the margins as 1.5 in all sides,orientation as portrait,page
size as A4 and set columns as two.
4. Type minimum 250 words in the document and set watermark, pagecolour,
pageborders from Page layout tab and set font size as 12 , align the text as left
alignment from the font group.
5. Go to insert->Header and footer, give seminar name, name of the student, regno,
branch and page number ,date and time in header and footer consecutively.
6. Go to Insert ->Picture, clipart, shapes and table and insert table in the document
7. After finishing the procedure save the document as File->save->Specify the name
and save the document.

RESULT:

A simple report from the given printed document of minimum 25 words has been
created successfully.

Exercise No :2 RESUME PREPARATION

Create a resume for placement from the given printed template with your personal
details. Publish a copy of the resume as PDF.

AIM:

To create a resume for placement from the given printed template with your

PROCEDURE :

1. Go to start->Programs->Microsoft Office-> Microsoft Word and type the resume


and follow the below steps.
2. Go to Pagelayout and set the margins as 1.5 in all sides, orientation as portrait, page
size as A4 and set pagecolour, pageborders from Page layout tab and set font size as
12 , align the text as left alignment from the font group.
3. Go to Insert tab -> tables and set required rows and columns.
4. Insert the picture from insert tab from the computer files .
5. Save the word document as PDF by clicking save or ctrl+S key.
6. Download any PDF converting tool such as AVEPDF and upload the word document
and click convert to PDF and download the file.

RESULT:

Thus a resume for placement is created using the given printed template with
personal details and has been published successfully.

Create a standard covering letter and use mail merge to generate the customized
letters for applying to a job in various organizations. Also, create a database and
generate labels for the applying organizations.

PROCEDURE:

1. Go to start->Programs->Microsoft Office-> Microsoft Word and type the resume


and follow the below steps.

3. Select Mailings tab-> start Mail Merge-> Letters.
4. Select Mailings -> select recipients -> start mail merge -> Type new list.
5. In new address list window -> create new database and add the address list by
clicking on new entry
6. Save the database and we can edit the database and start typing the covering letter
7. After typing TO ,select mailings tab -> insert merge field to place the fields one after
the another and type remaining document
8. Preview the document by Mailings -> Preview results -> select Finish and merge ->
print documents.

RESULT :

A mail merge operation for sending standard covering letter for applying to a
job in various organizations has been created successfully.

Create a worksheet for the given relational data (minimum ten records) and show
the data in the Line Chart, Bar Chart and Pie Chart.

To create a worksheet for the given relational data with minimum of ten records
and show the data in the Line Chart, Bar Chart and Pie Chart.

PROCEDURE:

1. Go to start - > Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft Excel.


2. Enter the record details as below

4. Select the records and insert different types of charts like bar chart, pie chart, line
charts by selecting insert-> charts type.
5. Save the Excel file by File-> Save -> give the name of the document and save the
document.

A simple worksheet for the given ten relational data and different charts has been
created successfully.

Create a presentation of minimum 10 slides from engineering related topic

AIM:
To create a presentation of minimum 10 slides from engineering related topic.

PROCEDURE:

1. Goto start - > Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft powerpoint.
2. Choose any one of the models from layout tab.
3. Insert 10 slides and enter any of the Engineering related data into the slides.
4. Select Design tab-> Themes group and select the background.
5. Goto insert -> header and footer and type date and time and author name in
header and footer successively.
6. Goto insert-> picture and select any one image to insert into the slide.
7. Goto insert->tables and insert the values in any one of the slide.
8. Select font size,style,alignment from format tab accordingly.
9. Select view-> slide show and move the slides using scroll button or arrow keys.
10. Press ESC key to end the slide show.
11. Save the presentation File-> Save -> give the name of the presentation and save
the slide.

Shapes, Header & Footer, Slide number, Video, Audio, Picture, Tables and Hyperlink
between slides.

AIM:
To Create a presentation of 10 slides about your college with Slide & Custom
Animation, Shapes, Header & Footer, Slide number, Video, Audio, Picture, Tables and
Hyperlink between slides.

PROCEDURE :

1. Goto start - > Programs -> Microsoft Office -> Microsoft powerpoint.
2. Choose any one of the models from layout tab.
3. Insert 10 slides and enter any of the Engineering related data into the slides.
4. Select Design tab-> Themes group and select the background.
5. Select any one of the slide and enter the title as COURSES OFFERED.
6. Select subtitle with different courses list using bulleting and numbering option
and choose font type, size, color, alignment from Font group.
7. To insert the audio select transitions -> choose any one and select transition
sound-> sound type.
8. Goto insert->Movie-> select movie from files.
9. Goto insert -> table-> select no of rows and columns and enter the data of
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING students.
10. Click insert-> shapes-> select any one of the shape and insert in the slide.
11. Click insert -> hyperlink-> select place in the document .select the text
MECHANICAL ENGINEERING will be highlighted.
12. Click animation tab-> custom animation ->add effect ->play the slide show.
13. Select transition effect and click apply to all and press slide show.
14. Select view-> slide show and move the slides using scroll button or arrow keys.
15. Press ESC key to end the slide show.
16. Save the presentation File-> Save -> give the name of the presentation and save
the slide.

RESULT :
