USING A WEB BROWSER AND USING A WEBSITE

People use the internet to do different activities. For students, they use it to help them finish
their homework easily or search for information.
To search for information, students can use a search engine. A search engine is a program
where we can search the internet for information. Here are some examples of search
engine.

Google is a website where we can search information.

Kiddle is a search engine for kids powered by Google.

1
 It shows web sites that are made for kids.
 Safe websites that aren’t really made for kids, but have content that are written in an
easy way for kids to easily understand.
 It also shows information in big thumbnails and fonts that are easy for kids to read.
 It doesn’t collect personal information of the kids.
 It deletes search logs every 24 hours.

To search using a search engine, we use keywords.

For example:

If you have a homework that asks you to find examples of animals that are carnivores, you
can use the keyword “carnivore”.
This will allow you to limit the search results and you don’t need to type the whole question or
instruction from your teacher.
