General information:
For both the servo oil system (only VBS-types) as well as the stern tube/shaft seal system, only
single grade mineral oil is accepted.
Viscosity limits:
The kinematic viscosity @ 40˚C of the oil used must be in the range 80 - 200 cSt according to ISO.
Notes:
Note I: The oil for the stern tube/shaft seal system must be chosen also in accordance with
the approved oil list from the shaft seal manufacturer/supplier.
Note II: In case of continuous operation in cold waters, it is recommended to use ISO VG100/SAE
30 oil for the system.
Note III: For the servo oil system, permitted contamination class is 10 (NAS1638), 21/19/16
(ISO4406:1999), 11 (SAE AS4059:D) and recommended filtration rating is 10-20 µm.
For both systems the maximum water content is 5%.
Note IV: Normally it will be possible to choose an oil, which fulfils the demands for both the CPP
system, the engine and/or the gearbox.
IMPORTANT:
In the contractual warranty period for the CPP equipment, the oil used must fulfil the above
specifications. Any deviation will only be allowed provided a written acceptance is given by MAN
B&W Diesel A/S, Alpha.
Further we undertake no responsibility for difficulties that might be caused by the oil itself.

Propulsion plant
Engine: 7L27/38
Gear: AMG 28EV
Propeller: VBS980
Remote control: Alphatronic 2000 PCS
This 'Summary of alarms' is a list containing all measurements on the propulsion plant
available for the ships alarm system.
The signal 'ECX4731 Engine alarm cut off' is for suppression of alarms when the engine is
intentionally stopped. This signal should preferably be collected from the ACM-E at a higher rate
than the remaining data. It is recommended to collect this signal in between the collection of each
of the below mentioned data blocks. The column 'Cut off' identifies the alarms that must be
suppressed when the signal ECX4731 is active.
The signal 'ECX4761 PTI alarm cut off' is used for suppression of gear and propeller alarms
when both the engine and the PTI are intentionally stopped. Relevant for signal marked with PTI
in the 'Cut off' column.
The signal ‘EAX4923 Eng. monitoring system communication fail’ must be generated by the ships
alarm system itself since it is acting as the master for this communication line.
The alarm system must be able to indicate sensor failure for all signals, analog as well as binary,
transmitted on the serial communication line. Please refer to drawing 2049274-2 explaining the
data format.
Signals not available on the MODBUS, are individual signals specified with type and range of the
corresponding sensor signal.
Some digital signals are available both on MODBUS and as individual signals; e.g. EAX4921
where "+DO" is added after the MODBUS address. Only one of these should be used.
The standard value for the static pressure of the high temperature cooling water can be set at
0.80 bar. If the static pressure for the actual plant is lower than 0.40 bar or higher than 0.90 bar,
the alarm limits have to be modified in accordance with the actual static pressure on board.
Please note, that all parameters transferred on the MODBUS can indicate signal failure as
explained in drawing 2049274-2 page 4, Alarm System Interface, MODBUS.
It is the responsibility of the shipyard to ensure the implementation of the mentioned group
alarms on the navigating bridge.
Signals stated as "only for indication" are recommended for all applications, but not required by
classification societies.
