Referring to the figure above, select and install differential bearing adjusting shim according to the
following steps:
1. Install the differential assembly with bearing inner race (including rollers and cages) into the
transmission case.
2. Be sure to place it in place and keep transmission case mounting surface levels up.
3. Measure the distance a between bearing inner race and mounting surface of torque converter case.
4. Measure the distance b between mounting surface of torque converter case and bottom of bearing
mounting hole.
5. Calculate L= b - a and choose shim according to the table below.

Referring to the figure above, select and install output shaft bearing adjusting shim according to the
following steps:

1. Install the output shaft assembly with bearing inner race into the transmission case.
2. Be sure to place it in place and keep transmission case mounting surface levels up. Measure the
distance b between bottom of bearing mounting hole and mounting surface of torque converter case.
3. Measure the distance a between bearing outer race and mounting surface of torque converter case.
4. Calculate L= b - a and choose shim according to the table below.

Referring to the figure above, select and install thrust washer according to the following steps:
1. Install the input shaft assembly and forward clutch assembly into transmission case.
2. Be sure to place it in place and keep transmission case end face levels up.

3. Apply a force of 78 N to spline shaft plane of forward

4. Measure the distance a between transmission case and oil pump mounting surface and spline shaft
plane.
5. Distance b between oil pump mounting surface and oil pump end face.
6. Calculate L= a - b, then select and install washer according to the table below.
