5e's Lesson Plan in Science
5e's Lesson Plan in Science
I. Objectives
Science and Health Today 1. Apolinario, Nenita A. 1997. pp. 154- 157. *
(S3FE-IIIcd-2)
C. Materials:
Learning materials, printed pictures and Laptop (for videos)
D. Science Concept:
Force and motion are fundamental to all matter in the universe. A
force is anything that can push or pull on an object. Forces
influence objects that are at rest or that are already in motion.
Motion is a movement from one place to another. Isaac Newton's
three laws of motion involves inertia, mass, velocity, and
momentum.
E. Process skills:
Observing, communicating, inferring, explaining.
III. Procedure
A. ENGAGE
Have a activity entitled “ PUSH, DROP and THROW’.
INSTRUCTION:
Materials: We will need a pencil, eraser and a piece of paper.
B. EXPLORE
Divide the class into three groups and do the following activity.
Directions: Identify the position of the following objects based on the pictures
below.
1. liquid detergents
2. Rattan laundry basket
3. Flat iron
4. Washing Machine
5. cabinet
6. sofa
7. chair
8. table
9. plant
10. oranges
C. EXPLAIN
Let the students watch a video from youtube
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-lOyW3pEUl0)
Demonstrate force and motion with them.
Materials:
1. Balloons 2. Stick 3. Straw
4. Yarn 5. Tape
D. ELABORATE
Find out how an object can have different motions.
Materials:
rope
small toy car
scissors
Procedure:
1. Tie a half meter of rope to the front bumper of the toy car.
Do the following movements. Trace the motion of the car on the floor with
a chalk.
A. Face the front of the car. Pull the car toward you.
B. Pull the car away from you.
C. Stay behind the car. Pull the car alternately from left to right.
D. Remove the rope from the car. Lay the car on the floor. Hold the
roof of the car with your thumb and middle finger. Then give it a sharp
twist.
Guide Questions:
1. In how many ways were you able to move the car?
2. Can you also do those movements on your own? How?
E. EVALUATION
Activity 1.
Materials:
Pencil
jumping rope
soccer ball
Procedure:
1. Go outside the classroom.
2. Call on volunteers. Volunteers will be asked to do the following activities. The
rest of the class will observe.
Guide Questions:
1. Can the objects in the first column move on their own?
2. What caused these objects to move?
3. What would happen if there is nothing to cause a movement?
In a one whole sheet of paper, let the students write all of their
learnings about the topic that have been discussed.
