Subject: CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023

Greetings from CBSE!


This is with reference to the CBSE Notification No. 26/2022 dated 23.04.2022 whereby, CBSE in
collaboration with Microsoft had conducted ‘CBSE National Coding Challenge 2022’ for students of
classes VI – VIII providing them an opportunity to showcase their 21st century skills to solve some
of the real-life issues with technology. A brief report about the CBSE National Coding Challenge
2022 is also annexed for perusal (Annexure I).
In view of the overwhelming response received from schools within and outside India, it has been
decided to conduct the CBSE National Coding Challenge in 2023 also. It is an excellent opportunity
for skilling students in the realm of coding and nurturing ability to solve real life problem for a
larger group of students.
In CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023, the students of classes VI – VIII are invited to address
any of the following themes to showcase their coding skills -
a. Earth- Protect Biodiversity and Natural Habitats
b. Cultural Heritage Preservation
c. Accessibility
d. Humanitarian action
e. Health
f. AI for Good
Please refer to Annexure II for details and schedule of the CBSE National Coding Challenge 2023.
The last date for registration to participate in this contest is March 10, 2023.

ABOUT THE CODING CHALLENGE


National Coding Challenge 2022 was an opportunity provided by CBSE in
association with Microsoft for students of classes 6th to 8th, to showcase their
21st-century skills to solve some of the real-life issues with technology. It was a
platform for students to learn about various real-life issues prevailing in society
and work out an innovative solution to address the problem related to the theme,
using their coding skills.

Coding, sometimes called computer programming, is how we communicate with


computers. With AI becoming predominant in our society, this coding challenge
helped our children to stay on track with evolving technologies.

REGISTRATIONS
More than 12,000 students registered from different regions of the
country out of which more than 2,300 students submitted their final
projects.

With the immense success of National Coding
Challenge 2022. We have come up with NCC 2023.
It is a platform for students to learn about various
real-life issues prevailing in society and work out an
innovative solution to address the problem related to
the theme, using their coding skills.

ELIGIBILITY
Students of Classes 6th,7th & 8th, who are enrolled in a school, are

eligible.
Teams can include a minimum of one (1) student and a maximum of

four (4) students from the same school OR different schools. Each

team of students must have a faculty member registered as well.


All members of the team should belong to the same grade or class.
Each team must have access to at least one (1) Desktop/laptop with

good internet connectivity.

PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
Each team must appoint a faculty member as SPOC (Single Point of

Contact) and decide the team’s name. Each student should be a


member of one team only.
The SPOC must complete the registration process.
Upon successful registration, access to the contest resources will be

shared on the registered email ID. Our Advantage


Each SPOC must submit their team’s submission(s) at the provided

website link with the email ID that was used for registration.
Projects are to be submitted using any one of the following
Microsoft Platforms:
