before you today as the newly elected President of the Supreme Student Government of our
dear school. I am in so much gratitude for all the trust that you have given me of assuming this position.
I am humbled by your confidence that I will be able to lead and represent you on the student
government. Additionally, I would like to thank the other candidates who ran for office. You all carried
out fair campaigns that made for an exciting and competitive election. I was intrigued by many of your
ideas and insights, and I hope that we are able to implement some of the excellent suggestions you all
had. To my fellow students, thank you and I assure you that I will work hard on your behalf, listen to
your ideas and do everything in my power and capabilities to make this school the best that it can be.
I am here, not only for the position, but also to grab the opportunity to be friends with
everyone. And like a good friend, I promise to be transparent and honest with you about the challenges
that our school faces. I will do my best to communicate with you at all times possible and keep you
informed. As your friend, I will be asking your open arms to help me accomplish my visions for our
school this year. No one person has all the answers or can do all the work. A chain is only as
strong as its weakest link. Together, we must be strong and cooperate to achieve our endeavors.
As your newly elected president, I promise to take into account each of your interests and your
voices on the many issues we will face during the upcoming year. When I was first nominated for this
position, I polled a sampling of the school body to find out what it was that you wanted to see happen
over the coming school year. You had some great ideas, and I listened to them. It was on those
suggestions that I built my campaign. Now that you have chosen me as your president, I am ready to
deliver on those promises I made to you.
In these trying times, we are all in shocked of what happened to our normal way of learning as
students. The “new normal” has allowed us to continue achieving our dreams but we are coping up
really hard because we are not used to it. The topmost of my priorities are concerned about maintaining
the relationships and mental health of our students by giving them the platform to speak out their
unheard ideas and concerns. We will create a committee of students who will handle the grievances of
our fellow students with the guidance of our advisers, for them to be able to express their thoughts in a
way that they will be protected of their identity. We will promise anonymity so that they will be
encourage to voice out their true concerns without holding back. Students should be heard and we are
here to make it possible.
In connection to that same purpose, I, together with my officers, would conduct educational and
entertainment projects such as online poster-making, spoken poetry, singing, dancing, literary writing,
quiz bee, and a lot more competitions to still continue bringing out the potentials and the best abilities
of our students. In these endeavors, I hope to motivate and encourage our students that the show must
go on, that despite these trying times, we can all do something worthy and exceptional. The talents of
our students are there and are always with them, and the one thing that we can do is to provide them a
platform to unleash their potentials and showcase what they can do to everyone.
These unforeseen changes give me a good place to start, but it doesn’t end there. I want to
continue hearing your ideas, getting your feedback, and finding out more ways I and your new student
government can better serve you. Let’s make this school year full of hopes and joy. To that end, we’ll be
making a Facebook group where you can speak your ideas. Feel free to let us know what you’re thinking.
You can either include your name, for follow-up purposes, or remain anonymous. We promise to give
each comment the consideration it deserves. It’s not about what we can do on our own; it’s about
representing you to the best of our abilities. As your President and your dear friend, I believe in you, I
believe in our school, I believe in our ability to work together for something great. As a saying goes,
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world.” Please
help us do that. Together we can make this school an even better place to learn. Thank you again for
your support!
