Have a drill in comparing two quantities using ratio

From the previous lesson you have learned that ratio is the comparison of one quantity or
number to another.You taught how to read the ratio.
Read the following comparison and write the ratio
1. 12 chairs to 3 tables
2. 5 out of 12
3. 1 day to a week
4. 10 boys to 20 girls
5. 2 pencils for 5 pesos
3. Motivation
Ask the pupils if they have gone through a candy store, what things they bought and the
amount they paid.
B. Developmental Activities
1. Presentation
Rona and Alice went to a candy store. Rona bought 10Halayang Ube for
P20.00, 6pcs of polvoron for P30.00. After a while they ate together. What is
the ratio of polvoron to halayangube?

Give emphasis to the situation that shows kindness and sharing. Lead the pupils to see that
kindness and sharing is important.

2. Performing the Activity
The pupils will form four groups and will be ask to list down the number of polvoron and
halayangube and complete the table below.

There are two ways we can write ratio. We can write ratio in fraction form and in colon form
