customer and market requirements. The wide-ranging city bus programme Andreas Lampersbach
offered by MAN Lion's City meets all requirements: With a low entry or low
floor design, as a solo or articulated bus, with a total length ranging from 12

select their bus from a highly flexibly designed product portfolio. MAN also
offers a wide variety of drive types: With diesel, hybrid and natural gas
drives, a wide range of engines and technologies are available which are
continuously being improved.

MAN Lion's City GL: the specialist in large passenger volumes

With the Lion's City GL Bus Rapid Transit version, MAN offers a vehicle
concept specifically designed for urban traffic with especially high passen-
ger numbers. The 18.75-metre long articulated bus has five double-width
doors. This door concept, unique on the market, guarantees optimal and
rapid passenger transit and short stopping times, even in peak periods.

The new electric pivoting joint control system prevents the pivoting joint
from overshooting the central axle when driving through tight turns. The
segmented side wall cladding means that damaged parts can be more
easily replaced. Repair and downtimes are thus significantly reduced. The
interior impresses with its new driver seat, materials and textiles: Translu-
cent bellows, glass sunroofs and energy-efficient LED interior lighting (light-
emitting diodes) combine to give the passenger area a bright and pleasant
atmosphere.

The MAN Group is one of Europe’s leading industrial play ers in transport-related engineering, with rev enue of approx-
imately €15.7 billion in 2013. As a supplier of trucks, buses, diesel engines, turbomachinery , and special gear units,
MAN employ s approximately 53,500 people worldwide. Its business areas hold leading positions in their respectiv e
markets.

MAN Lion’s City L LE CNG: a cleaner and more efficient alternative

MAN is the market and technology leader in natural gas buses. Around
8,000 natural gas buses, bus chassis with natural gas engines and gas
engines have been delivered since 2000. At IAA, MAN will be demonstrat-
ing its decades of natural gas know-how with the MAN Lion's City L LE
CNG in the Euro 6 variant. The low entry (LE) concept is designed for com-
bined urban and long-distance transport. The upholstered Lite G3 long-
distance seating provides increased comfort for longer routes. The natural
gas drive is an alternative to the conventional diesel drive and significantly
undershoots the current stringent emission standard without the need for
any additional filter technology or operating media. With no need for tech-
nical modifications, this bus can also be run with treated biogas, which
makes operation CO 2 neutral.

Working in partnership with its cooperation partner, erdgas mobil GmbH,

MAN is working on integrated natural gas solutions and increasing the
number of natural gas buses in operation, as well as ensuring the contin-
ued development of the fuel infrastructure for the entire natural gas mobility
industry. MAN will be presenting a CNG filling station together with erdgas
mobil GmbH at IAA.

MAN Lion's City Hybrid: The urban traffic engine of the future

The MAN Lion´s City Hybrid Euro 6 version is an economically efficient fu-
ture technology that is already in use on our roads. With its serial hybrid
drive, this low-floor bus saves up to 30 percent on diesel and CO 2. The
braking energy is stored in ultracaps and is used to drive both electric drive
motors. Due to the zero-emission capability, this bus contributes to improv-
ing the air in numerous cities. Another advantage is reduced noise: When
pulling away from a stop, the bus moves fully electrically. The diesel engine
doesn't cut in until after a few hundred metres.
MAN is presenting the Lion's City Hybrid with a designed-optimised interior
and exterior at IAA. The aerodynamic "MAN Efficiency Design", with high
recognition value, provides for further reduction in fuel consumption. The
former City seat shells have been replaced in the interior by lighter and
higher-quality City Light seating. The new driver's seat is ergonomically
designed and guarantees greater seating comfort. The segmented side wall
cladding ensures that maintenance times are kept as brief as possible.
