TRS601 VOCABULARY LIST

Note: The definition of each word/phrase is to help students understand the meaning only. It

1. concur (v) to happen at the same time/ to agree with someone or have the
same opinion as them
2. durable (adj) staying in good condition for a long time, even if used a lot
3. fluctuate (v) rise and fall irregularly in number or amount
4. fracture (v) to break or crack; to make something break or crack
5. longevity (n) long life or the long time that something lasts
6. simulate (v) to make or produce something that is not real but has
the appearance or feeling of being real
7. nonrenewable (adj) cannot be replaced after they have been used
8. emission (n) a gas or other substance that is sent into the air
9. legislate (v) to make a law about something
10. reduction (n) a decrease in the size, price, or amount of something
11. advantageous (adj) helpful and likely to make you successful
12. novel (adj) not like anything known before, and unusual or interesting
13. component (n) one of several parts that together make up a whole machine,
system
14. comprehensive (adj) including all the necessary facts, details, or problems that need to
be dealt with
