Answer the following Questions
Activity A:
Q. 1 What should we do if Allah permits sufferings to come our way?
Ans: Problems and sorrows come to all of us at one time or another. But
everything that happens, happens at Allah’s command. We should learn to take
the joys and the sorrows of our lives in our stride. There is nothing more
sorrowful than to despair.
Q. 3 Suffering is a blessing and atonement of sins to the believers. Discuss in the light
of Hadith.
Ans: Suffering is a blessing and atonement of sins to the believers as evident in
a Hadith where prophet Muhammad PBUH said: "Whatever pain, sickness, loss
or suffering afflicts a believer, even when a thorn pricks him, Allah forgives his
sins through it."(Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Q. 4 What is the reward of visiting the sick?
Ans: A friendly visit from us and a word of encouragement may cheer up a sick
relative or friend. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said:
"When a believer inquires after his brother or pays him a visit, a crier from the
heaven cries: "Blessed you are! Well done! You have earned a place for
yourself in Paradise."
Q. 8 What does prudence mean?
Ans: Prudence means 'to look before you leap'. If a believer visits an
unbeliever in his sickness, he should invite him to Islam with wisdom and
prudence.
Q.10 What is the death for the believers?
Ans: Death is certain but no one knows when it will strike. A believer,
therefore, keeps himself prepared for the last journey. Death is the ultimate
reality for the believer.
Q.11 What does Islam teach us to do, as be ready for death?
Ans: Allah's Messenger peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Be in
the world as through you were a stranger or a wayfarer."
At evening do not expect to live till morning, at morning do not expect to live
till evening. Take from your health for your illness-and from your life for your
death.
Activity B:
Q. 3 Why is suicide a sin? Why is it merely cowardice?
Ans: Suicide is forbidden by Islam because it is murder of oneself. Allah is the
sole Giver of life and death. The life He gave us is a precious gift. We should
not misuse according to our whims of the moment. Suicide is an act springing
from cowardice and not from bravery.
Q. 5 What should we do when troubled?
Ans: Islam requires a believer to be of firm resolve to face the hardships and
troubles of life. The believer is created for striving, not for sitting idle, to
combat, not for escape. His faith and character do not permit him to run away
from the battlefield of life. He possesses a weapon which never fails, and
ammunition which is never exhausted the weapon of his unshakeable faith and
the ammunition of his moral steadfastness."
Q.6 What is euthanasia? Is it right?
Ans: Euthanasia means to bring about a mercifully easy and painless death for
