    Moving to the City


    In the past a lot of people moved from
    the country to the city. People wanted to
    find work and there was more work in the
    city. There was also a lot of different kinds
    of work. People built factories to make
    many things in the city and they needed a
    lot of people to work there. In the city
    there were a lot of services that you
    couldn’t get in the country. There were
    also more kinds of entertainment such as
    the movies and theater. Sometimes a
    person moved to the city, and after a short time their family moved, too. In
    this way, the cities became bigger and bigger.
