Formation Packer Shoes
● floating and guiding casing to the bottom Three operating configurations are possible with
this formation packer shoe:
● allowing fluids to circulate through the end of
the shoe until the packer rubber is expanded ● running it with the flapper valve closed to
and set float the casing into the hole
In addition to the equipment described in this ● running it with an orifice tube to let the cas-
section, premium threads and special casing ing fill while running in the hole
grades are also available as customer service
items. ● running it as a collar by removing the plastic
guide nose

*Threaded latchdown baffles will fit in long or short API 8-rd thread couplings for any weight of casing, unless specified other-
wise. Baffle number 801.03734 is furnished with the 4 1/2-in. packer shoe. If using the baffle with a 4 1/2-in., 8-rd, short (5-in.)
coupling, use baffle number 801.03733.
**If running a formation packer shoe below a stage cementer, use a Multiple-Stage latchdown plug rather than the latchdown
plug provided with the packer. This latchdown plug must be ordered separately. See Section 5 for more information.
NOTES: Recommended maximum and minimum hole sizes are those that have provided the best seal based on past experi-
ence. Consider hole condition when selecting the proper packer size. The maximum recommended differential pressure across
the packer at temperatures below 200°F is 1000 psi.
