Poultry-Chicken
Brood and Grow Chicks-Place chicks and pullets in brooder house.
Prepared by: Kevin H. Manalo

I. Learning Competency
The students will have skills and attitudes required to brood and grow chicks. It includes
conducting of preparatory activities, placing of brooder in growing house, feeding of
birds, providing of optimum environment for the birds, performing prophylactic and
therapeutic measures and performing flock selections for broiler and layer.
.

Objectives:
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
A: Identify the different equipment in brooding area
B: Recognize if there are any problems on the device/equipment being use in brooding.

3. Electrical brooder
4. Infra-red bulbs

7. Brooder guard / chick guard
8. Electrical heaters (heating rods or
