November 13-14-17, 2022 which has been prepared and submitted by Ms. Lizbeth D. Devela, MT II -
Division Microsoft Reading Progress Focal Person Designate under the Curriculum Implementation
Division; is hereby submitted for perusal and approval.

Provisions:
1. Observance of the Safety Health Protocols must always be observed.
2. Properly coordinated with the Division Health Section on the conduct of the activity.
3. School Heads shall ensure that the affected classes of the teacher-participants are taken-cared of in
compliance to DepEd Order No. 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting Measures to Increase Engaged Time-On-Task and
Ensuring Compliance Therewith. Authority to travel supported with School Memorandum to Troubleshoot must
be prepared
and requested to the office of the SDS.
4. A medical team must be organized to facilitate first aid in case of emergency.
5. All expenses incurred charged against HRD FUND / Other Local Funds.
6. Participation to this activity is voluntary in nature. Those who will not participate shall report to their
respective schools / offices.
7. Activity Completion Report with documentation shall be submitted within 15 days after the conduct of the
activity.
8. Evaluation Report shall be gathered and consolidated as annex to the completion report.
9. Liquidation Report for the expenses incurred must be prepared within 10 days after the conduct of the
activity.
10. Compliance with the above requirements shall be the basis of the approval of succeeding requests.

II. RATIONALE The Department of Education (DepEd) in its pursuit to cultivate and
assess learners’ reading skills, encouraged teachers, parents, and other
reading specialists to use the Reading Progress Tool. The Reading
___________ Progress Tool is a self-instructional application that can help teachers help
SREPS-HRD their learners enhance their reading proficiency and develop a love for
reading. It can be accessed through the Assignments tab in Microsoft
Teams.

Reading Progress is a free tool built into Microsoft Teams created to


support and track reading fluency each learner. Students shall record their
reading on camera and submit the same. After assessment, data is
automatically collected and organized in Insights, mentor can spend more
time with students and less time analyzing data.

The Reading Progress is a Microsoft Teams built-in-tool that is designed


to support and track the reading fluency of learners. The tool can be used
for K-12 emerging readers, non-native speakers, and those with dyslexia
and other learning disabilities.

The Schools Division of Bais City, being the pilot division of Microsoft
Reading Progress and have already completed its first phase
implementation in Grades 3, 6, 8, 10, and 12, shall conduct an in-depth
Training of Selected Division Personnel & School Reading Focal Persons
Cum Workshop on November 14-17, 2022.

This activity shall prepare the full implementation of the system to the
entire grade levels in the division. Further, this is in pursuit to cultivate and
assess learners’ reading skills and provide appropriate reading
interventions program to learners.
lll. A-Objectives: This activity aims to:

 To master the salient features and processes of Microsoft reading


assessment tool;
 To understand how the system works for Philippine Informal Reading
Inventory (Phil-IRI); and
 To empower the participants to implement the effective use of the tool
as well as on its efficient & appropriate utilization of data collected.
