Son of Neymar Santos and Nadine da Silva. He

inherited the name from his father, a former soccer

player who became his adviser early on.

With the success of his career, the family bought

their first property, a house next to Vila Belmiro.

Soccer player:
Neymar combined his love for futsal with street

football and from a very young age attracted the

attention of great football teams. His idol is fellow

soccer player Robinho .

In 2003, he moved with his family to São Vicente,

where he began playing for the Portuguesa Santista

youth team.
brazilian national team:
He went with the Brazilian team in 2009 to the Under 17 Soccer

World Cup. After the World Cup in South Africa, in 2010, he was

called up to play for the first time with the senior team. He made

his debut playing against the United States, and scored a goal.

He had a great performance in the South American Sub 20 in

Peru, held at the beginning of 2011, being top scorer after scoring

nine goals. Brazil won the championship and qualified to

participate in the 2012 London Olympics.

BARCELONA:
In the match of the first day of the 2013/14 League, he made his
debut in an official match against Levante UD. On August 21, he
scored his first official goal for Barcelona in the first match of the
2013 Supercopa de España de Fútbol against Atlético Madrid.

His league debut was on March 24, 2013, against Real Sociedad.
On 18 September, he made his UEFA Champions League debut,

in which Barça defeated AFC Ajax 4-0. On September 24,

Neymar scored his first goal in the league against Real Sociedad

at the Camp Nou. On 26 October he made his first appearance in

El Clásico, scoring the opening goal and assisting Barcelona's

game-winning goal scored by Alexis Sánchez as they defeated

Real Madrid 2–1 at the Camp Nou.

On 11 December, he scored his first three Champions League

goals, scoring a hat-trick in a 6–1 victory over Celtic in

Barcelona.

On July 4, during the 2014 Soccer World Cup, in the quarterfinal

match with the Brazilian team against Colombia, he suffered a

fracture of the third lumbar vertebra after receiving a knee from

Camilo Zuñiga that forced him to remain out of the tournament.


On September 13, 2014, he scored two goals beating Athletic

Bilbao 2-0. On 27 September, he scored a hat-trick against

Granada in a 6-0 win. On January 11, 2015, as part of the so-

called "holy trinity" of Barcelona made up of Neymar, Luis

Suárez and Lionel Messi, he scored at home 3-1 beating

defending league champions Atlético de Madrid.

On June 6, 2015, he won the European Cup after beating Juventus

in Berlin. Barcelona won three trophies this season. The Liga

BBVA, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League, in that

order.

He got the Olympic rings tattooed on his arm after winning the

gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
