Guide Questions:
1. A higher initial height results into greater height of the trajectory of the projectile.
2. The distance traveled during flight is shorter if the angle is larger or less than 45 degrees. This is due to the
fact that 45 degrees ensures the largest amount of each component and is halfway between vertical and
horizontal.
3. Throughout projectile motion, the initial vertical velocity changes. Its magnitude decreases as an object
moves upward and increases as it moves downward. The initial horizontal velocity is constant and
unchanged.
4. Gravity has no effect on the projectile's horizontal motion, so the projectile travels with a constant velocity
under the effect of gravity acting downwardly. Gravity always has an effect on vertical motion.
5.
6.
7. According to the experiment being conducted, with a constant initial velocity and gravitational acceleration
but with increasing angle, the maximum height displaced by the projectile also increases.
8. According to the experiment being conducted, with a constant initial velocity and gravitational acceleration
but with increasing angle, the total time of flight displaced by the projectile also increases.
9. Because perpendicular components of motion are independent of each other, the vertical force acts
perpendicular to the horizontal motion and has no effect on it. As a result, the projectile maintains a
constant horizontal velocity while accelerating downward vertically.
