I- OBJECTIVES (Content Standard, Performance Standard, Learning Competencies)


Content Standard: The learners develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes required in
folding a table napkin.
Performance Standard: The learners independently fold a table napkin folding.
Competency Code: TLE_HEFBS9-12AS-Ie-f-3
Learning Competencies: After the series of learning experiences, the students should be
able to:

1. Differentiate style of table napkin folding

2. Appreciate advantages of table napkin folding

3. Demonstrate examples of table napkin folding

PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES:

LESSON PROPER:
ACTIVITY

 The teacher will group the students in to four groups. Each group will be given a brown envelope.
Inside the envelop are the steps in making different styles of Table Napkin Folding. After 5 minutes the
students will choose two representatives to report and demonstrate the assign style in front of the class.

Materials inside the brown envelope:


 Steps/procedure of the different styles in Table Napkin Folding
 Table napkin cloth
 Rubric
 Pictures of the different styles in Table Napkin Folding
 Manila paper
 Glue

ANALYSIS

 The teacher will check the presentation of each group using the rubric.

The students’ performance will guided with the following criteria:

ABSTRACTION

 Discuss the term “Table Napkin Folding”, its importance and use.
 As the teacher demonstrate the steps/procedure of the different styles in Napkin Folding. The students
shall understand and be able to follow the steps correctly.
 Give a short history about Table Napkin Folding

THE BIRD OF PARADISE


1. Fold the bottom half to the top.
2. Fold right half over on to the left.
3. Rotate napkin ¼ turn to the right.
4. Pick-up right and let corners and turn bottom point under.
5. Fold the right point down along centerline.
6. Fold the let point down along center line.
7. Tuck the bottom points under.
8. Fold the triangle in half.
9. Hold larger corner with your hand.
10. Use your other hand to pull up each point.

THE BISHOP’S MITRE


1. Fold top half down to the bottom and smooth lat.
2. Fold op right corner down to meet center point of bottom edge.
3. Fold bottom let corner up to meet center point of top edge.
4. Flip Napkin over and rotate ¼ turn to the left.
5. Bring the bottom fold up to meet top edge.
6. Lit the point out from underneath.
7. Fold the let point into the center and tuck it under the fold.
8. Flip the napkin over.
9. Fold the right point into the center and tuck it under the fold.
10. Put your hands inside the pocket and open the hat while standing it up.

THE CANDLE
1. Fold the top point down to the bottom point. Smoothing it lat.
2. Fold 2” of napkin down towards the point
3. Flip the napkin over while rotating it ¼ turn to the right.
4. Staring at the bottom roll the napkin up into the candle shape.
5. Stand the napkin up and tuck the last edge of the fold
into the cuff. Let it stand.

THE WATER LILY


1.Fold the corners of the napkin into the center and press flat.
2. Repeat the 'step 1' a second time.
3. Holding the center points together, carefully turn the napkin over.
4. Fold the four corners into the center again, but do not press.
5. It is time to make the petals of your flowers now!
Holding the center firmly, partly pull out the previous fold from
under each corner and gently pull them upwards to make the
first layer of petals.
6. To create the base leaves of your water lily, pull out the corners
from underneath between the petals.

 Importance of Table Napkin Folding


a. It improves the look of the table setting
b. It catches the attention of the guest
c. Protect from falling food and soup

APPLICATION

 The teacher will give 10 minutes to let the students practice the four different styles in Table Napkin
Folding. After that, the students will perform together the different folding styles and the teacher will
assist the students.
