First of all, I would like to say thank you to Miss Fatin for giving me an
opportunity to complete this type of assignment. It was a great experience as it
enables me to explore more about computer specification. I got a new knowledge
each time I complete this assignment. Truth to be told, this assignment gave me
confidence to me to give a consultation to someone who needs recommendation
about complete computer specification. In other words, this assignment gave me a
lot of benefits and I am grateful to complete this.

INTRODUCTION
One of the things that students need the most in University or College life is a
desktop or laptop, it would be hard for students to complete their assignments or
tasks that are given by their lecturer. Students usually will buy a desktop once and
they are going to use it for a long period. Hence, a student needs a good desktop
with a good system. There are a lot of students out there who are struggling with the
desktop problem that they face. With that, they need to purchase a good desktop
that contains a good so that kind of problems will not occur to their desktop. Most
students and people out there are clueless about computer components, their
function, advantages and disadvantages, price range, and so on. Most of them
purchase a desktop because of how it looks and some of them might be purchase
because the cost is affordable. with that, they must be exposed to information or
knowledge about desktop systems and components.

They should refer to the people that are experts in this matter. They will guide
them in choosing a desktop that suits their needs and requirements. They also need
to explain what is good and what is suit for their needs. Most students need a
desktop that contains huge storage, a good sound system, and a huge graphic. With
that, they will not regret purchasing a desktop as they are satisfied with it. Since
most students tend to choose a branded desktop rather than a high-quality one, they
need to know that a branded or a popular brand will determine that their components
and their system are good enough for student use. In this task, I am going to
interview a student that is going to purchase a new desktop for her studies. I will
advocate for her about a good and complete computer system. Few things need to
be considered before purchasing a desktop. The things that need to be considered
include computer case, motherboard, hardware, software, input device, output
device and not to forget cost deliberation. There are a lot of things to explore about
the components and the system so that a student can fully understand about it and
she could easily choose which are the best desktop that is she or he going to
purchase.
A. MOTHERBOARD

The motherboard is the main component of a desktop. Without a motherboard, the

computer would not be able to work well and smoothly. It is because the
motherboard controls all the computer’s activities. To ensure that the desktop works
well and accurately, a student needs to choose a good motherboard. There are five
types of motherboards. It is Form Factor ATX, Mini ATX, Micro ATX, Nano ATX, and
PICO ATX. The question is, what is the best motherboard that suits the student's
needs?

i. ASUS ROG Maximus X11 Hero

Firstly, ASUS ROG Maximus X11 Hero. This motherboard is known as the best intel
motherboard. This motherboard form is ATX. Apart from that, a socket that is utilized
in this motherboard is LG1200. Meanwhile, the chipset is Intel Z590. Other than that,
Dual Channel DDR4 is a type of memory that this motherboard supports. Plus, the
technology that multi GPU support is NVIDIA 2 Way SLI Technology. Features that
are included in this motherboard include VRM Heatsink, ROG Supreme X ALC4082
gaming audio which is good for a student who loves to play a game. Apart from that,
it also contains onboard WiFi 6E and ASUS exclusive software. Why the student
need this type of motherboard? It is because it has a good quality and it contains a
few USB ports with two Thunderbolt 4.

B. COMPUTER CASE

Computer case or known as PC case, PC cabinet, computer chassis, tower of

computer is the compound that includes a lot of elements of a personal computer.
Technically, computer cases build from plastic, aluminum, and steel. It also seems in
a home built in other home substances such as lego bricks, acrylic, wood, and glass.
Computer cases normally embrace sheet metal paddock for electricity power and
drive bags including a real panel that able to lodge a peripheral connector. Here is
the best computer case that I would like to recommend.

i. Corsair iCue 5000X

It is known as the best PC case in 2021. The form factor of this computer case is
mid-tower. This computer case came with a power button, USB3.1 Type C, USB3.0
USB-A, reset button, and headphone port. It appears with 20.47 cm in length,
weighing 9.65kg, and 20.47 inches in height. The type of PSU that this case support
bottom mount. The mobo compatibility of this case includes ATX, Micro ATX, and
Mini ATX. It is a stylish computer case as it includes tempered sides and front
panels. It also contains a good cable administration. However, this computer case
functions a bit hotter than the same cases.

C.HARDWARE

Besides motherboard and computer case, hardware is also important in a desktop

setup. What is hardware? Hardware is referred to the corporal scrap of computer
and associated device. There are a few hardware that needs to be considered
before purchasing a desktop.

I. PROCESSOR

A processor is a small chip that is occupied in a computer and other electronic tools.
Functions of the processor include accept input and supply an accurate output. Here
is the best processor that is highly recommended.
This is AMD Ryzen 9 5900X. This processor is known as the best CPU for high-end
gaming. The boost clock is this processor 4.8GHz. Apart from that, it contains 64MB
of L3 Cache. It also has 24 threads and a 105W amount of TDP. Other than that, this
CPU has a good performance. Also, it has a similar power expenditure. Plus, this
processor contains a new single-core champion.

II. SYSTEM MEMORY

Other than processors, users need to consider system memory too. Functions of
system memory include keeping, encrypting, keeping, and recovering information. In
other words, system memory also plays an important role in computer systems. Here
is the recommendation for good system memory.

The picture above shows a Corsair Vengeance LED. This RAM is DDR4 type with a
3200MHz speed. The capacity of this memory is 16GB only. This memory also
consists of a sparkling LED and a good overclocking presentation.

III. GRAPHIC CARD

A graphic card also needs to be considered when purchasing a desktop. Its

responsibility is to provide a picture to the monitor. Other than that, it transforms the
data into a language that can read and understand.
Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is the best graphic card in 2021. It has 8GB of memory
storage. Other than that, it includes an I XPCIe 8-pin with 1 X 12-pin adapter. The
core clock of this graphic card is 1.41GHz with a 1.6GHz boost. Apart from that, the
memory clock in this graphic card is 14GBps. It also includes HDM12.1, 3X Display
port 1.4a. Furthermore, it has a good 1080p presentation and a strong ray tracing
show.

IV. HARD DISK

Next, hard disk. This is the most important component on the desktop. A user would
not be able to do a reboot system, save and download files without a hard disk. Here
is the best hard disk that users can utilize.

The figure above is Seagate Barracuda. It has a high RPM and storage. Other than
that, it has SATA 6GBps as its interface. Apart from that, it consists of 64MB of
cache with 720 RPM. This hard disk affordable and has a quick spinning disk.

V. DVD ROM

DVD ROM supply a big storage and enable user to back up files and documents.
ASUS Zendrive U9M is the best DVD ROM that I would love to recommend. It works
faster than other DVD ROM. Apart from that, it contains a mini USB- Type C and
Type-A. This DVD is created differently as it has a solid and strong body.

D. SOFTWARE

Those who use computers or desktops out there must be familiar with the software.
Technically software assist computer system to work smartly and effectively. Other
than that, the software enables a user to gain or explore new experiences. It also
helps them to be creative in managing data and files on their desktop. Furthermore,
with software, it can secure the files and data and turn the desktop to be more fertile
and more well organized. There are a few software that can assist the user and the
desktop to work efficiently.

i. STEAM

Firstly, steam is a gaming software and marketplace. I believe that gamers out there
will like and will be amazed by this gaming software. It is the best free gaming
software that accommodates must brand the latest title except the producer is not
simply selling from its shop. Most digital gaming shop such as Microsoft and EA sell
their game through this software because of this software’s popularity. The services
that steam software supplied mostly obtainable on Windows and macOS. It contains
a great game library. Other than that, it has remote play and big picture mode.

ii. RAZER CORTEX

Secondly, Razer Cortex. This software is created for smarter, smoother PC

performance when playing games. It is one of the best programs required to scuttle
games more competently and enlarge game speed to supply users with a greater
gaming adventure. This software contains a web version. Apart from that, it also
available for Windows 7,8, and 10 and it includes almost all attributes. The best part
of this software is it is free software. It also counts the best feasible setting based on
the user’s fondness. Not to forget, it also cleans up unnecessary things to give more
space.

iii. MSI AFTERBURNER

Next, MSI Afterburner. It is a gaming PC software that enables the user to twist GPU
settings. This software has been being a part of the GPU overclocking landscape for
a long time. Apart from that, this software contains equipment that enables users to
access graphic card settings. Other than that, it enlarges the GPU’s clock frequency
and voltage. Also, the fun speed control characteristic supplies a good presentation.
This process will not heat the PC up. Furthermore, it contains a simple to utilize
interface with a slider on the left, meanwhile, on the right, it has a few addons and
monitoring.

E. INPUT DEVICE

In a computer system, the input system is a material that is utilized to supply data
and handle signals to an information rectifying system, for example, a computer or
data implement input device plays an important part in rectifying any data because
the output is often established on the input supplied. Apart from that, the data that
are supplied from the input appliance are raw. There are a few input devices that can
assist the user to utilize the computer easily and smartly.

i. MOUSE

Firstly, mouse. Almost all desktops user use a mouse while utilizing them. It is a
convenient device for a student to use it. Apart from that, using this device is just a
piece of cake. They just need to connect the mouse to the USB port then user can
start to utilize it. To be more advanced, users can use a wireless mouse. With a
wireless mouse, a user needs to connect to a Bluetooth device then the user can
control the computer using the wireless mouse. The input device assists users a lot
especially when it comes to browsing the internet, editing pictures, editing videos,
reading an online article, and many more. Users also can choose which brand they
would like to purchase.

ii. Keyboard
Besides the mouse, the keyboard also plays an important role as an input device. To
be exact, it is a board that contains letters, numbers, and other useful characters.
Users need to click on any characters that they want and those characters will
appear on the desktop monitor. This process is known as typing process. Keyboard
also is one of the most utilized input devices by the user. there is a lot of type of
keyboards. There are includes a multimedia keyboard, mechanical keyboard,
wireless keyboard, virtual keyboard and etc.

iii. Microphone

Last but not least, the microphone. The microphone is an input device that assists
the user to add a sound or to make sound or their voice become clearer. The
microphone also is a common input device that people use nowadays especially
adults and students. Furthermore, they often use a microphone a lot during virtual
meetings since most people stay at home during a pandemic. Hence, students need
a microphone so that online distance learning and discussion session will go
smoothly. Apart from that, purchasing or using a microphone these days really worth
it. It might be a less important device but it is convenient and easy to use it.
F. OUTPUT DEVICE

Lastly, output devices. An output device is any hardware device that is utilized to
dispatch the data from the desktop to another user or other device such as a
handphone. Normally, most output instrument that is created especially for human.
With that, they obtain the prepared data from the desktop and change it into the
format of the video, audio, or any corporal duplication. Apart from that, the output
device can be utilized in grimy conditions. Furthermore, most of the output device’s
cost is cheap and it is suited for student’s needs.

i. Speaker

Firstly, the speaker. It is one of the most ordinary output devices that are related to a
computer system. Meanwhile, other speakers can be curved up to any choice of the
sound system. The creation of a speaker has to create audio output that can be
catch up by the user no matter what the designs are. Furthermore, most students
use the speaker when they watch movies on their desktops. For them, it is more fun
to watch movies or any video with louder sound especially when they watch it with
their friends. Users can purchase it according to their budget and a speaker that are
suit their taste.

ii. Headphone
Secondly, headphones. A headphone is a hardware device that can be connected to
a smartphone, laptop, computer, mp3 player, or another device then the user can
listen to it personally without interrupting other people. This device is a plug-and-play
type of device. Furthermore, this device does not need any kind of appliance before
utilizing it. Other than a headphone, it also came up with other names such as
earbuds and earphone. There are a few types of headphones that students mostly
used. It includes closed-back headphones, open-back headphones, on-ear
headphones, Bluetooth headphones, etc.

iii. Printer

Next, printer. Just like headphones and speakers, a printer also is a common output
device among people. A printer is a machine that prints paper documents. Normally,
adults using the printer a lot during work. The printer machine has been used a lot in
a company and organization. Printers are quite important to students as they would
like to print out their notes, articles, an assignment that they need to turn in, any
documents, etc. Technically there are two types of printers. It is an inkjet printer and
laser printer. The most popular brand that are people use is Hp printers and Canon
printers. These brands got a lot of good feedback as it is affordable and has a good
quality.
CONCLUSION

In conclusion, surveying computer components is important and need to be

considered before purchasing a desktop. It might be a small matter, but it gives a lot
of impact to the user sooner or later. A good computer component will help a
desktop to function smoothly and smartly. Hence, people need to consider a few
things before buying a desktop. May computer systems develop us more in a future.
