Zone 1: Plan A (Tracheal Intubation)

Hands-on practice using new and advanced airway devices currently
available and an opportunity to learn about their advantages and
limitations, as demonstrated by experts in their use.

Videolaryngoscopes and Other Advanced Airway Devices/Techniques

Zone 2: Plan B (Intubation through SADs)

Intubation techniques through Supraglottic Airway Devices (SADs) &
SAD station

• 1 & 2 stage Fibreoptic Guided Techniques via various 2nd
generation SADs
• ILMA
• The Air Q intubating SAD
• Total Track VLM
• VBM intubating laryngeal tube iLTS-D
• Other second generation SADs demonstrated

Zone 3: Plan D (scalpel & surgical techniques):

Scalpel Cricothyroidotomy
• DAS recommended techniques demonstrated by guidelines
authors
• Scalpel/Bougie/tube technique on purpose built mannequins
• Surgicric and other kits demonstrated

Surgical Tracheostomy / Percutaneous Tracheostomy
• Anatomy & techniques for surgical airway
• Hands on practice and video demonstrations
• Demonstrated by experienced ENT/Head & Neck surgeons & ICM

Zone 4: Airway Imaging

US Assessment of the Airway and Gastric Ultrasound
• US imaging of important airway structures
• Use of US in percutaneous tracheostomy

Intubating the Vomiting Mannequin – The SALAD Models

Zone 5: Fibreoptics (Training & Awake FOI techniques)

Airway Trainer – ORSIM & Airway mannequins
• Practice fibreoptic skills on the bronchoscope simulator & airway
mannequins demonstrated by its inventors
• Tips from experts to refine manual dexterity and improve
fibreoptic skills on mannequins



Zone 6: Paediatric Airway (VL, FOI, intubation via SAD)

Paediatric Basic and Advanced Airway Management Techniques
• Learn basic techniques demonstrated by experienced paediatric
anaesthetists
• Learn advanced techniques & the equipment used for managing
the difficult paediatric airway
