Refrence line ----Snapping to remote objects
Apply alignment constraints to wall
Padlock = to move two walls on the same alignment
simultaneously
Create similar(CS)= Inherit similar properties of selected wall
Double escape = to remove command or stop
Click modify= stop in single click
Striaght curve walls
Clockwise nature of revit= external face on outside
SPLIT WALL
• Apply the Split Element and Split With Gap tools to a wall segment.
UNLOCK PADLOCK CONTRAINT ----- JOIN THE WALL (CLICK T TO JOIN THW WALL) FROM BOTH SIDES
TO MAKE WALL INTO ONE ENTITY. SELECT WALL END POINT AND CLICK OR DRAG .
SPLIT ELEMENT.(SL)
MODIFY --- WALL—SPLIT ELEMENT---SELECT AND PLACE THE SPLIT EL.
CHECK DELETE INNER SEGMENT (TO DELETE THE IN BETWWEN WALL BETWWEN TWO SPLIT ELEMENTS AS WE PLACE)---
AFTER ESC. IF WE WANT RESELECT EXISTING SPLIT ELEMENT AGAIN ----- THEN SELECT THE WALL --- PRESS TAB MULTIPLE
TIMES TO RESET THE SPLIT ELEMENT
FILLET WALLS
Fillet command is not a modify tool
Selct radius ---set radius --- click fillet radius---apply to walls—flip the wall if needed
ALIGN WALLS
• Align walls to each other.
In the Edit Assembly dialog, review the Layers. Click Cancel twice to close the dialogs. Click in empty
space to deselect the wall.
ZOOM
Align left hand face of interior wall to left hand face of exterior wall
MODIFY---align---options bar(prefer—wall faces, multiple allingment)
Faces of core=
Centre of core
Trim extend corner (TR)= ALWAYS CLICK ON THE WALL TO KEEP FIRST AND THEN
FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER WALL
TRIM/EXTEND Single element =(IN CASE NOT LOOSE ANY WALL BUT ONLY EXTEND OR TRIM)
CHOOSE REFRENCE WALL FIRST AND THEN OTHER WALL FOR TRIM OR EXTEND

New wall like any other system family are created by choosing existing wall (in the case)
Can select wall type in properties pallete and then further modify it
Can selct wall that already exist in the building use in the drawing area and use that to duplicate and
create new wall type

ONE HAS ONE MATERIAL THE OTHER HAS A DIFFERENT MATERIAL THEN THERE WILL BE A DIVIDING
LINE TO DIFFERNTIATE BETWEEN THE TWO.
PRACTICE
CLICK TAB TO HIGHLIGHT WAALS AND THEN RHGT CLICK TO SELECT ALL AT ONCE.

DOOR(DR)
IN THE MODIFY | PLACE DOOR TAB = MODE PANEL, CLICK LOAD FAMILY.
Double click door folder – select door family—open—specify types—select type ----ok
If we change aanything it will effect the properties of any door of the same type that have already
inserted
Insert door (tag on placement = on /of) = to add tag to the door automatically while insert
For single leaf door = hit spacebar to reverse swing direction of the door leaf
After placement door if want to change the orientation of the door hit spacebar

Drag and selct the whole wall with windows ----- selction panel --- click filter--- check none—click windows---

Select window—
Windows are hosted families and will appear once the dicover their host(source)
Select window to array (AR)---- options bar---linear array—turn of group and associate----- no of windows
To specify distance--- select middle of the first window---- and drag distance—click.
