Hardware Inventory System2

This document discusses the design and methodology for developing a hardware inventory system. It describes using an evolutionary system development life cycle model which divides the process into smaller, incremental phases where users can access the system after each cycle. In the analysis phase, end-user requirements are gathered by creating process diagrams and performing a detailed analysis without defining technical details. The design phase then develops the database structure, interfaces, and system modules to meet the requirements. Testing of the system would then be conducted after each incremental phase before full implementation.

HARDWARE INVENTORY SYSTEM

INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKROUND OF THE STUDY

Hardware inventory system involves tracking and management of physical

components of any IT enterprise like computers, laptops, servers, routers and other
endpoint devices and peripherals. Similar to hardware inventory management software,
Desktop Central's asset tracker scans Windows, present in networks to collect and store
hardware, computer and server inventory details in the database. This data is presented
in the form of reports for ready reference. The reports provided by the system inventory
tool also provides a graphical representation and has a drill-down capability to show
more detailed information about the hardware and software details such as warranty
management along with their usage metrics for each computer. Desktop Central's
hardware inventory tool helps you generate the following reports.

1.2 STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM

In terms of their sale transactions, the only record that. They have are the
customer receipt. And the problem with that is not all customers ask for an official
receipt they cannot deter mine how much their total earnings are at the end of the day
because their records or the official receipts that they keep are not complete. Lack of
security in terms of their sales and their products. The business owner will find it difficult
to see if some products are lacking or missing because they don’t have any written
records about the available products. Unreliable inventory and sales report .Because
they don’t have a complete records of their inventory and sales transaction they cannot
produce any inventory or sales report that are really consistent and dependable.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION OF THE STUDY

Scope

 The system can store product data

 The system can stock in and stock out a product

Limitation

 The system cannot be open with windows 7 operating system

 The system cannot print any reports
 The system

This can no longer be highly labor intensive because with aid of the
inventory system determine their lacking and unavailable products with the
accurate reports that the system will generate. Promote data security in
terms of making the files always updated and easy to locate to provide a
faster mean of doing the inventory. Unauthorized employees and persons
will not be able to use the system unless under the supervision of the
business enterprise owner.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

This study will greatly contribute to the management in improving its level of
inventory management consistency .efficiency and convenience in providing and giving
to owner, employees and customers. This study will help the proponent understand and
appreciate the importance of the inventory monitoring for all business enterprise and
establishments. This study will also improve her knowledge and experience in thesis
writing as well as creating inventory system. This study will greatly help the future
research to be aware on how important a inventory system in a certain business
enterprise This study can be a reference to the future researchers who undertake
studies in the same nature ,also as contribution for other topics areas. In addition to this
it will offer essential information and learning experiences to the future researcher. To
expand their knowledge in the fields of system analysis and design and software
development.

REVIEW OF RELATED LITERATURE

This section covers about the related studies as well as the foreign and local parallel
studies of the proposed system gathered from several studies such as Internet,
documentary works of other graduates and professionals in order to deepen the studies
of the proposed system. The purpose of this study is to help the office in their task,
make their work much faster, easier and accurate.

LOCAL STUDIES:

 Hardware Inventory System in Philippines

It is without a doubt that one of the major roles played by today in almost
every area in the society particularly in business and marketing is the hardware
system or computerized system. This system enables us to make very detailed
work and follows accurate directives without error. This study is prepared for the
implementation of the hardware Inventory System in Philippines. In order to know
the problem, we conducted an interview with the managing team for sales, billing,
and inventory. This led us to problems like the manual time-consuming record of
documents, billing errors and difficulty in data retrieval. The basic advantages of
the proposed system are to make the process fast and well-organized which
means that they can process much more quickly than humans. Data retrieval has
to be searched in lots of registers slowly and it wastes a lot of time. The current
system that the company uses is manual receipt recording. It makes the data not
reliable enough as it is handwritten and there is a high probability of errors to
occur. Data recording consumes a lot of space since it is stored in cabinets and
folders. It is also prone to data loss where it could be missing because of
improper file management

Inventory is a company’s merchandise, goods and materials that are

contained in the store factory at any given time. The employees need to know
how many units of their products are available for reservation and sales and the
items that are sold. All of these rely on the inventory system to present solutions.
The sales inventory system would provide service to the user, input information
to the database, summarize the inquiry of bills, and manage the product releases
and storage. This would generate a faster improvisation of work given less time
and effort.

GLOBAL STUDIES

Hardware inventory system is also software but it may be confusing because of

what the name implies. It is software that you need to install on your computer to detect
most of the hardware in your PC or Mac. It will track all working hardware devices that
the system can understand it can also give additional information that the hardware
inventory system cannot understand but it will show a sign of hardware detection but
unknown brand or known brand but unusable.

Devices that cannot be detected by the system may not be installed correctly or it
may be physically installed but it may not be detected by the computer system itself or
the hardware may be physically damage or broken. You may also ask why is there a
need to have a hardware inventory system installed on your computer or is it ever
important at all. First and foremost it may sound odd for non techie and it may take a
while to understand its importance but a hardware inventory system does not only
detect the parts of your computer, technician find it easy to use this system to easily
identify the reason why a certain parts of your computer and why it is not working.
CHAPTER III
DESIGN AND METHODOLOGY

3.1 SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE METHOD

3.1.1 Testing Let’s first understand the term life cycle before getting into all the
details. A life cycle is the sequence of changes an entity goes through from one form
to another. Many concrete and obscure entities go through a series of changes from
start to finish.

3.1.2 Evolution Evolutionary model is a combination of Iterative and Incremental model of

software development life cycle. ... The Evolutionary development model divides the
development cycle into smaller, incremental waterfall models in which users are able to get
access to the product at the end of each cycle

3.1. 3 Analysis

End-user business requirement analysis takes place during this phase. Project goals are
converted into the defined system functions that the organization intends to develop. The
three primary activities involved in the analysis phase are as follows:

1.       Gathering business requirement

2.       Creating process diagrams
3.       Performing a detailed analysis
Business requirement gathering is the most crucial part at this level of SDLC. Business
requirements are a brief set of business functionalities that the system needs to meet to
be successful. This phase does not define technical details such as the type of
technology implemented in the system. A sample business requirement might look like
“The system must track all the employees by their respective department, region, and
the designation.” This requirement shows no such detail as to how the system will
implement this requirement, but rather what the system must do concerning the
business.

3.1.4 Design

In the design phase, we describe the desired features and operations of the system. This
phase includes business rules, pseudo-code, screen layouts, and other necessary
documentation. The two primary activities involved in the design phase are as follows:

1.       Designing the IT infrastructure

2.       Designing the system model

3.1. 5 Implementation

What are React lifecycle methods You can think of React lifecycle methods as the
series of events that happen from the birth of a React component to its death. Every
component in React goes through a lifecycle of events. I like to think of them as going
through a cycle of birth, growth, and death
