Fluent With Friends Success Guide
Fluent With Friends Success Guide
This is Justin, your RealLife Fluency Coach. This guide will provide you with critical instructions for
your first week, an overview of the course, as well a series of “ninja tips” and strategies for your
success.
We are super excited to get the ball rolling (to get started) with a few simple but powerful first
steps on your Fluent with Friends Adventure.
Our goal with this course to help you build and discover:
An effective real world learning process that brings you short-term AND long-term results
in using English and understanding native speakers (both in media and in-person)
A fun and engaging learning experience that motivates you to take the consistent daily
action you need to make consistent progress on your journey to true, lifelong fluency.
What are your goals? Please, take a moment to introduce yourself and let us know what your
goals are for this course (you may do it in the Fluency Circle once we add you there, or write us an
email at [email protected]).
This will help us get to know you better, and work with you throughout the course. We would
love to hear from you.
Your mission for this first week of Fluent with Friends is simple but important: get oriented with
the materials, prepare your mindset and motivation, and take action to start building the learning
habits you’ll need to step up your level and succeed with this course.
1. Read and Understand this Guide (let us know if you have any doubts)
2. Have a Quick Look at the Power Lesson
3. Read the RealLife Power Learning Guide: Specific Instruction on How to Use the Materials
4. Watch Friends Episode 01. Get at least a general idea of what happens in the first episode,
how the materials are organized, and how our method works.
5. Check out Memrise and get in the habit of spending 5-10 minutes per day studying the
vocabulary. Memrise App |FwF S01E01 on Memrise (Memrise Website)
6. Join the Fluency Circle Community on Facebook and/ or Telegram
o Facebook: Request access to the group here (please answer a few basic questions
to verify your participation in the course).
o Community: If you’d like to participate in our Global Telegram Text Chat Group with
other members of the course (it’s more like a chat room actually), please fill out this
form and we will get in touch within the next few days to add you (important: make
sure you read the “welcome guide” you get after filling out the form.
Important: Remember, you will get the second lesson 7 days after receiving the first. If you don’t
receive the lesson when you’re supposed to, please e-mail us and we’ll fix the problem.
Perfection is NOT required, but Persistence IS: You don’t need to learn
100% of the information for each episode to be successful, but you do
need to persist and not give up. For the first week, we highly
recommend you relax into your process, get oriented with the
materials, the method, cultivate the right mindset, and watch and
enjoy this awesome TV series.
As the new lesson/ episode arrives each week, we recommend that you quickly finish the last
one, do your best to understand the storyline, and renew your commitment to making the next
week even better.
This is a marathon, not a sprint, but if your efforts are consistent, sincere, and intelligent, you will
start to see the results accumulate in the coming weeks and months.
If you read the RealLife English blog or listen to our podcast, you’ve seen us promote mindset as
the golden key to not just learning English, but success in anything.
This is because it’s been scientifically demonstrated
over and over again that mindset is fundamental to
motivation, habits, and your entire learning process,
ultimately determining whether you succeed or fail.
“First, your growth will be evolutionary, but the net effect will be revolutionary.”
As we mentioned above, the goal of this guide is to provide you with general tips on how to be
massively successful with this course. Now that you have a strategic foundation for your success,
I would like to invite you to explore specific instructions on how to use the materials with the
RealLife Power Learning Method.
