Why CCNMC?
Aside from the normal perceptions of people outside the institution, the team aims to learn about the
hospital's hidden culture. Also, to investigate the health-care system and how professionals work to meet the
needs of patients, as well as the problems they face as they adhere to the requirements of their respective
jobs.
About CCNMC:
Mission- Caloocan City North Medical Center is devoted to providing excellent patient care, patient safety,
and unequaled passion and commitment to assure the very best health care services especially to the
residents of the city of Caloocan.
Vision- We envision to be the center of excellence in tertiary level hospitals by improving the health
services of our community through compassion, commitment, competency, and caring approach.
History- It was inaugurated in February 2016, Caloocan City North Medical Center (CCNMC) made history
as the first major hospital fully funded by a local government unit. And to make quality healthcare services
accessible and affordable, CCNMC partnered with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
Medical frontline has been an in-demand presence as resistance against any form of health crisis,
especially in the still-current COVID-19 status across the globe. As for the first government-funded hospital
in North Caloocan, the Caloocan City North Medical Center (CCNMC) came as a beacon of help among
residents where the image of strength has been a central point by public health officials in accommodating
people.
'Kwentong Kultura' aims to take a pivotal look at the CCNMC, where loyalty and pressure of service
take place in every employee. By regressing stories and information from selected respondents, the
presenters believe their perspectives complete the strong image of CCNMC's culture. Thus, the renowned
institution's cultures are as dynamic and can encapsulate a unitarian relationship with the internal and
external reaches as part of their oath to serve and achieve safe and quality health.
Organizational Culture:
a. Artifacts- CCNMC maintains a uniform dress code guideline for all employees, particularly on Mondays.
They have a flag ceremony every Monday before they start their shift, and a flag retreat every Friday
thereafter. Moreover, despite their "no noon policy," they were able to spend time together by eating along with
their colleagues.
b. Value- CCNMC adheres to the philosophy of considering everyone as a member of the family, and each
employee believes that working collaboratively is essential for a successful organization. Furthermore, they
always bear in mind that patient care and safety are their top priorities.
c. Assumptions- Employees always seek authorization from top-level management before granting a favor to
anyone.
Strong Culture- Everyone shares the same values and beliefs, and it influences each employee's
behavior and job performance, so they operate in accordance with the organization's fundamental
principles.
Tall Hierarchy- Before reaching other members of the organization, the procedure, request, and
information pass through numerous layers.
Hierarchical Structure- The President and hospital administration make decisions, which are then
disseminated trough the range of departmental and team level to the rest of the organization.
