Introduction

Me & The Bees Lemonade company was founded by teen social entrepreneur Mikaila

Ulmer when she was just four years old, in 2009 Austin, Texas. The founder, Mikaila,

was determined to help them upon discovering the important role that bees play in our

ecosystem. Their lemonade contains pure honey which is not only healthy for us but also

helps the bees. Their sales spreadsheet shows that in three months, they profited around

$221.00 dollars just from selling lemonade.

Finding & Visual

How does the price affect the quantity sold? According to the graph, the price doesn’t

affect the quantity sold. According to the graph, when it’s 2 dollars the company sells

little more than usual. Since the price doesn’t drop significantly, we can conclude that

people don’t mind spending an extra 50 cents for the lemonade.

Recommendations

A few recommendations we have for the company:

● Lower prices on days the temperature is 75 degrees +

● Create seasonal/limited flavors to build interest and demand
● On colder days, they should offer 2 for the price of 1 lemonade

Reasoning: Lowering prices on the days when the temperature passes 75 degrees is a

good marketing strategy since people will be more willing to purchase a bottle of

lemonade to cool down. Creating seasonal flavor can help build interest and demand

because people would be curious to see the difference in flavors. And the limited flavors

will build more demand and it would cause people to put in more effort to get the drink.

Since the weather will be colder later on and the demand for lemonade will decrease.

Therefore, having the 2 for the price of 1 would keep customers interested and willing to

buy more from the brand.

Conclusion

Based on the findings of the Me & the Bees the price of the lemonade didn't really have

an affect on the amount that was sold. After reviewing the data a few times we thought it

would be better to not lower the prices randomly, instead the prices should be lowered on

certain occasions such as high temperatures since that is the time when people are most

likely to purchase a cold bottle of lemonade.

Ethical Considerations

● Do you think there is anything more to the story?

● Do you think your group accurately represented the data and patterns or do you
think there may be some misrepresentation? Why or why not?

We definitely think there’s more to the story. We can find different things if we look at

other graphs. I do think there’s some misrepresentation since the graph is going by 20 and

it would be difficult to find the accurate average.

Reflection

We were having lots of problems with creating the graph but I found out that other data

was interfering with the graph even after selecting the one we wanted. So what I did was

separate the price and quantity sold into another sheet and I was able to create the graph

we have currently. We feel confident with filtering, sorting, and graphing. Conditional

formatting and rate range is still confusing to us.
