Overview of the topic: Good day everyone!

Today, we will have a news report regarding teenage pregnancy


including their opinions that contains evaluative language. I'm going to ask a few people based on their
knowledge and understanding of teenage pregnancy that contains positive, negative, or neutral words and
expressions that convey a judgment or an appraisal.

Unique presentation proper

Miguel: Welcome to (group 6) and I'm here to question other people based on their knowledge about the
argumentative text. But first, allow me to introduce myself, I'm Miguel Joseph Dela Cruz your news reporter for
today.

Miguel: What do you know about argumentative essays? Do you know what its characteristics and definitions
of it are? In your own words, what is the difference between argumentative and persuasive?

Junis: An argumentative essay is a piece of writing that attempts to convince the readers that the author's idea
is accurate. It is a writing genre used to defend or prove a point. A persuasive essay and an Argumentative
essay are similar. Thus, it is often confused to be the same, though there are existing differences between the
two. Argumentative essays are based on logic and reason, while persuasive essays are based on emotions
and personal opinions.

Miguel: Thank you for your answer. Now, let's go back to our main point. I'm going to ask some people here
what they think about the issue of teenage pregnancy.

Miguel: What's your opinion about teenage pregnancy? Do you support it?

Nayumi: Personally, in my perspective, I do not support teenage pregnancy, because if it's not their intention to
have a baby they shouldn’t do it in the first place. If she knows she won't be able to raise the child, I would
advise the girl to get an abortion rather than keep the child. Additionally, it is risky and should be avoided to
have a child when you are still a teenager because you don’t have a source of income, and are not mature
enough to become a parent.

Mayk: We all know that teenage pregnancy is an alarming case today. Many teenagers are already pregnant at
a young age and most of them are engaging in premarital sex. This could be the cause of some sexually
transmitted diseases. For me, teenage pregnancy is considered inappropriate and should be prevented.

Miguel: What about our cameraman, do you have any opinions regarding teenage pregnancy? and do you
support it?

Vhon: In my belief, teenage pregnancy is where the reality of life can be proven and tested and how difficult it
is to raise a child. I am pretty sure that no one does not have difficulty with teenage pregnancy, so it should be
avoided and should not continue our future generations.

Miguel: We just heard their opinions about our latest issue. Most of them are not in favor of teenage pregnancy
since this could lead to many negative effects. The people I interviewed used evaluative language to propose
their opinion. Their evaluations are indicated through the use of adjectives. They use negative words to judge
aspects like people's doings and behavior. Before I end this news report, I would like to convince everyone to
keep sharing awareness to prevent teenage pregnancy. Let’s not jump to the conclusion that “having a baby is
a blessing” because giving birth should be your greatest achievement, not your greatest fear.
