What task did you participate or assist in? Fill out the table below.
What components or parts were present Under these LMS components or
in the LMS used by the teacher? parts, What task did you
participate/assist in?

Google Classroom I don’t have any chance to participate or

any access to their Google Classroom.
∙ Stream

∙ Classwork (i.e. lectures, assignments,

discussion topics, quizzes)
∙ People

Google Meet I don’t have any chance to participate.

NOTICE
After you participated or assisted in the LMS, describe what you observed and experience
by answering the items below.
1. Describe the structure of the LMS utilized by the teacher, how was it organized? What
main components did you find?

∙ Google Classroom is compatible with a variety of devices such as mobile devices

and desktop browsers, making it easier for students and teachers to access
(Heggart & Yoo, 2018). Classes can be organized with colored banners to help
students and teachers differentiate between multiple courses and add
personalization, making it customizable. On the streaming page, announcements
and discussion posts appear where YouTube videos, links and other documents
can be attached and embedded. In classwork page, it shows assignments and
houses other media materials such as links, videos and other documents that are
relevant to the course. Teacher can create, organize and sort assignments based on
their preferences. And lastly, on the People tab, instructors can invite students
using their email or provide their Google generated classroom code to students to
join the class. Within this tab, instructors can manage students in their class
through several options such as muting and removing. While in Google Meet,
provide easy-to-use, reliable and secure video conferencing to connect your
school community with video for classes, parent teacher conferences, professional
development, and more.
2. How was content taught or delivered? How were the learning activities arranged? What
strategies did the teacher or you use to help students attain the objectives/outcomes? ∙ The
content taught or delivered through google meet. The resource teacher share his screen to
present his topic. In managing his learning activities the resource teacher use google
classroom where he just send there his prepared activities and his students will just attached
their answer in the google classroom. In order to his learners to understand easily the lesson,
the resource teacher send videos or their learning materials in their google classroom ahead
on time so that his students enable to watch or read in advance their topic to be discussed.
3. What was your experience in participating and assisting?
∙ I don’t have any chance to participate and assist in the class. But based on my
observation, it is not easy to discuss through virtual learning because there have a
lot of things that you need to consider. Like he internet connection, the availability
and even the time that you need to consume in one course subject.
ANALYZE
1. What do you think are the best features of the LMS that the teacher used? How did these
features help the students learn the content?

∙ For me the best feature of the LMS that the teacher used is the assignment. Teacher
can create learning activities using learning content like YouTube videos, Google
Form surveys, or PDFs from the Drive. They can assign learning activities to all
learners or individual learners. Educators can either immediately give out the
learning activity or schedule the learning activity for a specific day.
2. How did the teacher/ or you use the LMS to implement the strategies/activities planned? ∙
The teacher use the LMS to implement the strategies/ activities planned by saving or
send activities ahead of time. By that the teacher didn’t consume time but instead he
can do another things related in teaching. Since google classroom is an open online
application where his learners can access anytime and can send documents in a given
due time.
3. How did this connect with what you know about LMS and TPACK?
∙ Google classroom is a big help to the teacher either to the students because aside
from its different features you can also save files, documents, videos, etc. You can
also organize them by customizing the color banner in order to you to easily
identify if what course it is or what content it has. You can also send there some
activities to be answered by the learners with a prior given of time.
4. What problems or challenges did the teacher/ you or the students encounter in working
with the LMS? How did it/they affect the teacher/learners? What part/s of the LMS do
you think can still be improved? How can this/these be improved?

∙ Mostly the problem that the teacher or students encounter in working with the LMS
is the no automated updates. The activity feed doesn’t update automatically, so
that the learners need to refresh regularly in order not to miss important
announcements. I think the part of LMS that can still be improved is that could
Google design a "save edit/suggestion" function, perhaps as the default while at
the same time sending students an editable document. When students submit a
Google Doc and attach it to an assignment, as their teacher have two options:
select the" edit" function, which allows to directly edit their submission or use the
"suggesting" function which results in the suggestions in terms of spacing or
punctuation.

REFLECT
1. How ready are you in organizing and using an LMS?

∙ I think I am ready to organize and using an LMS. Since Learning Management

System (LMS) is an online integrated software used for creating, delivering,
tracking, and reporting educational courses and outcomes and I have already some
knowledge on how to use them and at the same time to organize it. Like
organizing the course information by topic in order to the students to easily find
what they need and make sure to regularly monitor students' progress.
2. Enumerate the knowledge, skills and attitudes you already have to organize your virtual
learning environment and use an LMS:
Content:

∙ In assisting virtual learning, like what I always said you must be prepared and
always study or master your lesson before sharing your knowledge to the students.
Pedagogical:

∙ Preparing some exciting activities, presenting the powerpoint presentation and some
videos that the learners can watch.
Technological:

∙ I can employ my topic or lesson by using google meet and share my learning
materials through google classroom.

3. What do you still need to learn in order to use the LMS effectively?

∙ A Learning Management System (LMS) can be used to manage and deliver

instructional materials and resources online, increase course engagement and
interactions, as well as tracking and assessing student academic performance. I
think I need to learn to be more organize in using LMS effectively in order for me
as well to my students to easily understand and find the given course subject and
the learning or instructional materials.

WRITE A RESEARCH PROMPTS

OBSERVE
1. What problematic situation / challenges /area of improvement did you see while you
participated and assisted using LMS?
∙ Based on my experience, the LMS lacks a tracking feature that can tells how much
of the course a student is done with, by that the student might find it chaotic to
manage all the courses at once. Because when the student enrolled in more courses
than one and completed each course according to the preferences. When the
number of courses increases, it becomes harder for the student to manage between
multiple courses.
List at least three sources that you have read about this problem/challenges.

Functionality

On what theory/principles can this problem be anchored?

∙ This problem can be anchored by giving some guidance to the learners so that they
are enable to use the feature well. Have some orientation to help students to
interact using the LMS.

REFLECT
What do I hope to address – the problem/challenge/area of improvement in LMS use?
What change do you want to achieve?

∙ As education technology is gradually evolving today, there are a lot of e-Learning

courses being offered through learning management systems (LMS). But I hope to
address of having a tracking feature in every LMS in order for both teacher and
students to be automated updated without hesitation to refresh the app feature
daily. Additional, to make the learning engaging and adaptive, especially in the
present scenario where knowledge is increasingly becoming digitized and
attention spans are going down.
PLAN
2. What strategies /solution/means can you employ to improve the situation/solve the
problem?
∙ The solution that I can employ to improve the situation is to have features for an
Ideal Learning Management System like the ability to track. An ideal Learning
Management System should be able to record and track relevant information as
and when needed. Skills and certification tracking is one of the most important
LMS features for nearly every kind of user. It's nice to train and orient learners to
use the feature. Where can help in measuring performance and improvement.
ACT
3. If you will conduct an action research, what will be the title (Base this on your answers in
nos. 1-3):
∙ The importance of having a feature for an ideal Learning Management System.
