    'will' is used in statements that refer to the future

    'would' is used to refer events to the past. / Uncertain future

    Past tense of will is willed or rarely would.

    when we're speaking in the past, will becomes would.

    “Was” is the past tense of the verb “to be”.

    Present: I am an idiot. / dancer / batsmen / rider

    Past: I was an/a idiot.

    Future: I will be an idiot.

    Past: I was, you were (singular), he, she or it was, we were, you were, they were.
    Present: I am, you are (singular), he is, we are, you are (plural), they are

    was/were ——past tense. Eg.

    I was school Capitan

    They /we

    We were(future)/are(present) confused/baffled/perplexed in that situation

    You were up to the speed in your speech

    He was furious/angry by the Students behavior

    They were/are(present) having hard time dealing with the situation

    Present -Has and Past-- Had

    He has a nice car.………………… We had a nice car / He had a flight


    Rita has a new job……………….. Rita had a new / Rita had a job
    She has a polite manner of speaking.

    Present tense: SINGULAR — I am. You are. He, She, It is.

    Present tense: PLURAL — We are. You are. They are.

    Past tense: SINGULAR — I was, You were. He, She, It was.

    Past tense: PLURAL — We were. You were. They were.

    The verb BE has many forms:

    In the present tense: AM, IS, ARE

    In the past tense: WAS, WERE

    I am -> I was

    He/she/it is -> he/she/it was


    You/we/they are -> you/we/they were

    If you can say “today”, the sentence is in the present, whereas if you can say “yesterday”, it's
    in the past.

    Verb

    When the last letters of a verb doesn't have ss,sh, ch , o, or x we use' s' with third person
    singular subjects in simple present tense.

    drive — drives.

    See — sees.

    look — looks

    When the last letters of a verb has ‘ ss' , ' sh' , ‘ ch' , ‘ o' or ‘ x' use ' es' with third person
    singular subjects .

    Possess — possessss.

    pass — passes.

    Push — pushes .

    match — matches ,

    Go — goes .

    Xerox — xeroxes.

    Go through the sentences and change their tenses as directed.

    1. The boy speaks the truth. (Present Continuous Tense)


    2. Mr Cooper has spoken about Dinosaurs. (Present Perfect Continuous Tense)
    3. The boat sailed yesterday. (Simple Present Tense)
    4. Amy went to school yesterday. (Future Continuous Tense)
    5. The baby cried for hours. (Present Perfect Continuous Tense)
    6. Robert ate all the cookies. (Present Perfect Tense)
    7. I have finished my assignment. (Past Perfect Tense)
    8. Mr Bert had taught for five years. (Past Perfect Continuous Tense).
    9. Dev saw the Prime Minister yesterday. (Future Continuous Tense)
    10. Priya shall finish her stitching by then. (Future Perfect Tense)
