ABOUT THE COMPANY

1.1 Introduction:
We at Growth Central VC are building a community of students and aspiring Entrepreneurs. We
help students explore different career options through our on demand and cohort based courses.
We started in February 2021 by offering an Entrepreneurship Program where we help students
validate their ideas and take them from an idea to a pitch, teaching them the necessary business
skills and mindset needed to embark on an entrepreneurial journey.

We have now partnered with Industry Experts and Experienced Teachers to provide the best
courses for students, freshers and professionals to upskill themselves and break into any career
path of their choice. Our career based courses are divided into 3 parts and will guide you through
the process of breaking into a career path, learning the skills that are needed and how to excel in
it.Along with the career based courses we also offer curriculum courses from classes 9th upto
college last year.

After upskilling themselves through our courses students can go through our certification
assessments to test their skills. Assessments on different topics like Google Ads, FB, IG
ads,Python, C++, stock market, etc.

They HELP by:


● Build a source of side income in just one weekend
Curating an extensive and exhaustive course on a subject of your expertise which can help
people who are high school and college students in their courses and ahead. This 3-4 day work
on recording your knowledge can generate a continuous side income for them.
● Strong social media presence with 100,000+ reach per month through various channels
A marketing team that will work on repurposing the content by creating graphic posts,
Instagram/YouTube videos and reels to get your course a larger reach through our social media,
our affiliate network and other on-demand platforms.
● Provide students with mentorship services.
As a Tutor, people can sign themselves up for the mentorship service where students can book
mentorship sessions with mentors for 30 minutes or more at a price provided by people

2.1. Activities and Job role :


The responsibility I was assigned during this 3 months of internship period was to add the
job posts on my linkedin profile, then i have to screen the applicants by their resumes afterwards
was suppose to call the most suitable candidates for an interview and then if the candidate cleared
the interview, their basic details (Name, Phone number, email and linkedin profile link) are
forwarded to our HR executive.

2.1.1.Introduction
The HR Department deals with the management of people within the organization from hiring to
exiting. The department is responsible for attracting employees, designating them in their
positions and ensuring their performances. The attendance, annual leaves, casual leaves, sick
leaves, complimentary leaves etc. are also updated on a daily basis into the system.

2.1.2. Job post Descriptions :

● Business Development Interns -


GrowthCentralVC.com is hiring interns actively. Our company is seeking Business Development
Interns who can offer reliable support to the sales team and help improve efficiency as sales
volume increases. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining regular contact with larger
customers, ensuring that all sales documents and agreements are completed before they are filed
and updating the customer contact information as needed.

Work from Home

and web crawling tools to extract data from websites. Your responsibilities are to understand and
use these tools or use manual techniques to collect information. Your duties also include creating
or troubleshooting web scraping tools, analyzing to obtain data, and passing the information on to
the appropriate leaders of a company.

I was supposed to hire candidates for these three profiles according to the requirements of the
organization.

2.1.3. Job Posts :

This is how a job post looks like when it is uploaded on linkedin. Everyday i uploaded such job
posts were uploaded on my linkedin profile to gain applicants.

Once the applicants are received like shown above, I have to shortlist the candidates by
looking at their LinkedIn profiles and resumes that they have uploaded on their linkedin
account.

After screening all the resumes very carefully, their experience, education and details , I
shortlisted the candidates for the interview call. After making a list of people that are
needed to be called on that day, I call the applicants one by one. And ask the following
questions from them:

1. First of all, please give your brief introduction.


2. How many years of experience do you have in this field please elaborate.
3. Why do you want to work in this field?
4. Tell me about your biggest strength and weakness.
5. Tell me one thing which makes you better than others

I made some notes while taking the interview and after the interview i would look back at
all the profiles once and send them a message of being hired for the internship and ask for
the necessary details for the same.

After taking the details, I forward the details to my HR executive and the further process is
handled by them.

1. TRACXN: Tracxn is a research firm that provides information to venture capitalists

2. INSTAGRAM: Instagram is an entirely visual platform. Unlike Facebook, which


relies on both text and pictures, or Twitter, which relies on text alone, Instagram's

Nowadays more than one billion people are on Instagram. Instagram is considered to

be the best social media platform for engagement or our ability as a brand to connect
with our followers. It's visual, simple and it's attracting the younger generations more
than other social media platforms. Instagram can go beyond just visuals.

3. LinkedIn: LinkedIn is a business-specific social networking site. The site's goal is


to enable registered users to create and document professional networks of people they
know and trust. LinkedIn is also a resource for professionals to find jobs, research
companies, and stay up to date on industry and business news. LinkedIn collects data from
LinkedIn profiles to provide policymakers, employers, workers, and educators with
data-driven insight into patterns that help align workforce supply with demand globally.

4. Naukri.com : Since its inception in 1997, Naukri.com has experienced consistent


growth while outperforming its competitors in every sphere. According to a similar
website, the site has a traffic share of more than 70%. Naukri.com is a job-search
platform that connects corporates/recruiters, placement agencies, and job seekers in
India and around the world. It provides a variety of products such as Resume Database
Access, Job Listings, and Response Management Tools. Naukri.com served over 76,000
corporate clients in 2018-2019, with over 5,25,000 jobs available at any given time and
over 65 million CVs. The company has 56 offices in 42 cities across India, as well as
international offices in Dubai, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Bahrain.

it deals with all the aspects related to the employees working in the organization.
● Learned to use LinkedIn , how to add job posts and hire candidates.
● It helped to improve my communication skills by communicating with candidates.
● Learned to use Naukri.con, Instagram, Linkedin, Tracxn, Unstop, etc.
● Learned what real corporate is- learned how to tackle issues when faced, how to behave and
corporate with colleagues, learned how to response when failed sometimes, how to promote
our products

CHALLENGES FACED:

​ Adding Job Post:


It was quite difficult to add job post sometimes, as LinkedIn has very tight security
standards and rules. Many times it happened that while adding a job post it asks for
companies Mail id, which we were not provided. Also many times it happened that my
job post stayed in review by LinkedIn and we can't gain any applicants until the job post
is active, So it also created problems for me.

​ Scheduling Interview Calls:

It was also difficult to contact and schedule an interview call , as many times it
happened that I got no response after shortlisting the candidates, and if I got some
response then they would drop out as it was an unpaid internship though it was
mentioned in the description already but still it happened a lot.

​ Communication with the mentor :

The mentor which was assigned to me was solely focusing on the hiring of
candidates and not seeing the quality of candidates i am hiring. They just set a daily
Target that you have to hire this many people for the day, that's it, not seeing the other
problems that I was facing.

SUGGESTIONS

​ Main emphasis was on hiring candidates and not on learning how an organization works..

​ No Proper training was given on how to hire the candidates.

​ They didn't provide companies mail id , it was difficult to post a job everyday as
LinkedIn have a limit for the number of applicants.

​ No individual doubts were taken.

​ They should also provide stipend so that interns may get monetary motivation.

​ Positive competition should be a part, so that interns may work more willingly
and should perform better.

The department of a company tasked with discovering, vetting, hiring, and training job
applicants is known as human resources (HR). Additionally, it manages benefit plans for
employees. In the twenty-first century, HR is critical to helping businesses adapt to a
business climate that is changing quickly and to the increased demand for qualified workers.
The phrase "human resource" was originally used by American institutional economist John
R. Commons in his 1893 book The Distribution of Wealth. However, it wasn't until the 20th
century that HR divisions were legally established and given the responsibility of resolving
disputes between workers and their employers.

No matter the size of the company, the HR department is a crucial aspect of the operation.
Its duties include increasing employee productivity and safeguarding the business from any
problems that might develop within the workforce. Compensation and benefits, hiring,
dismissing, and staying current on any regulations that may effect the business and its
employees are just a few of HR's duties. The Conference Board, a member-driven economic
think tank, performed research that identified six crucial people-related tasks that HR must
successfully complete in order to bring value to a business. As follows:

● Utilizing and managing people well relating compensation and performance evaluation
to competencies acquiring skills that improve performance on a personal and
organizational level
● Increasing the creativity, innovation, and adaptability required to boost competitiveness
● Utilizing innovative techniques to improve career development, succession planning,
work process design, and inter-organizational mobility
● Utilizing better staffing, training, and employee communication to manage the adoption
and integration of technology
