SUBMISSION
English Communication Skills, UHLB 1112 is an English course provided by our
university. This course was designed to help students develop their reading, speaking,
listening, and writing skills. Additionally, this course provided students with opportunities to
build their level of confidence so that they can enhance their speaking skills. In this UHLB
1112 course, I have learned a lot that could help me to become better in my life. First and
foremost, I'm grateful to be in this section for this particular subject because my lecturer and
coursemates were very helpful to me. My first impression of this subject was totally different
if I compare it now. At first, I thought this subject would be really tough for us as we are
weak in the English language and we thought this course would be full of assignments and
quizzes but then it broke our perception of this course.
We have been given the assignment to upload a video on YouTube with the title "
Tell a Story About Our Favourite Movie ". First, following the briefings on the YouTube
video assignment, we form groups of two to three of our classmates. We are able to form a
group of three people for group 1 consisting of Syafi, Harrish, and Osman. After forming a
group, we must have a talk about the topic we plan to delve into in the video project. After
that, we create an outline for our video project. The scenario, background music, and script
are all presented in the outline. In order to create a clearer version of our video idea, we also
finished a storyboard.
In the first place, we have a lack of experience in creating good and bombastic videos
to publish on the YouTube platform for public viewing. So, all of us do some research to get
the idea from previous UHLB1112 video projects and try to ask our seniors. After that, the
first step we make a discussion group online and also have face-to-face conversations with all
of us to make the outline and a storyboard of our video. Next step, we plan to do the video
recording just in our college room to make it look like a student’s life that has been assigned
a task to share about The Hunger Games movie with others. Next, we do the recording using
an iPhone which is Syafi’s phone, and we get some help from another friend to be a
cameraman that can record our video scene part by part. During the process making of the
video, we have to follow the guideline and instructions from the rubrics, and then follow the
flow of the storyboard to explain every scene. We do a recording session one week before
submitting it because have to do edits and improvements to get the best outcome for our
video YouTube project.

This video YouTube project progressed to be done starting in week 10 until week 15
of this semester before we submitted it. We were so happy after completing this video
YouTube project about our favourite movie because the moments and experiences that we
have to go through with our group members can spread happiness to all of the viewers after
watching our video. On the other hand, we want to say a lot of thanks to Dr. Sarimah and
Madam Zaiton for giving us an opportunity to make this video on our own based on your
help and guidance.
We wish to convey the genuine morals or life lessons we gained from viewing The
Hunger Games. The first is that it is against human nature to kill. As the hunter prodigy and
protagonist of The Hunger Games, Katniss is clearly terrified of the idea of dying, but her
darkest nightmares center around having to kill others. She is overcome with guilt after
killing a girl named Glimmer and throws herself over the body "as though to protect it."
Second, having money makes us less sympathetic. The inhabitants of the Capitol ruthlessly
exploit the 12 districts that make up the nation of Panem, maintaining their own high level of
life while purposefully putting the rest of the population in utter destitution.
