Formatting
Footnotes and Endnotes
• Just as we can format text, it is possible to
format Footnotes and Endnotes
• You may specify the Paragraph style for
the footnote text as it appears at the end
of the page or document.
• You may specify the character style for the
‘number’ of the footnote within your text –
Text area – and for the ‘number’ of the
Foonote in the Footnote area.
• For Endnotes only you may specify the
Page style for the Endnotes.
Continuing Footnotes
Sometimes it may be necessary to continue
footnotes on to the next page. The Word
Processor will do this where the size of the
footnote makes it impossible to fit it on the current
page without upsetting the flow of the text.
If you use End of Footnote and Start of next page :
• the ‘End of Footnote’ text followed by the number
of the next page is put at the end of the first page
• the ‘Start of next page’ text followed by the
number of the previous page is put before the
start of footnotes on the next page
